Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleTrajectory Tracking Control of UR5 Robot Manipulator Using Fuzzy Gain Scheduling Terminal Sliding Mode ControllerAndualem Welabo, Gebremichael TesfamariamrIn dealing with the trajectory tracking control of robotic manipulator many scholars have had to work in a sliding mode controller. However, SMC has two major limitations one is chattering the other is asymptotical convergence. The chattering problem occurs in traditional SMC due to the switching function of the discontinuous controller and the constant gain parameter of K. Though in … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 24 Jul 2020 · 11,717 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleWheeled Mobile Robot Trajectory Tracking using Sliding Mode ControlAzza El-Sayed Bayoumi IbrahimThis paper introduces and discusses a control strategy for nonholonomic wheeled mobile robots. The models of the robots include the kinematic and dynamic equations of motion. Trajectory tracking control problem of parallel wheeled differential drive mobile robot is considered, where the robot should reach the final position by following a referenced trajectory for different initial conditions. A motion control strategy … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 12 Mar 2016 · 9,318 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDesign of a Fuzzy Logic Sliding mode Model Following Controller for a Brushless DC Servomotor DriversPhongsak PhakamachProblem statement: A brushless DC servomotor position control system using a fuzzy logic sliding mode model following controller or FLSMFC is presented. Approach: The FLSMFC structure consists of an integrator and variable structure system. Results: The integrator ensures the elimination of steady state error due to step and ramp command inputs, while the fuzzy control would maintain the insensitivity to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 26 Jan 2012 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSliding Mode Observer-Based Fault Reconstruction for Uncertain Linear SystemsSlim Dhahri, Faycal Ben Hmida, Anis SellamiProblem statement: Fault reconstruction scheme is different from the majority of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) methods described in the literature in the sense that it not only detects and isolates the fault, but provides an estimate of the fault. This approach is very useful for incipient faults and slow drifts, which are very difficult to detect. Also, this approach … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 8 Sep 2011 · 7,350 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSliding Mode Control with PID Tuning Technique: An Application to a DC Servo Motor Position Tracking ControlTossaporn Chamsai, Piyoros Jirawattana, Thana RadpukdeeProblem statement: In this study, a combination of a classical Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and a PID tuning technique with low-pass filter is developed for a position tracking control of a DC servo motor. Approach: The DC servo motor will be used to adjust the throttle angle of the gasoline engine in our laboratory. To control the engine speed to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 31 Oct 2010 · 8,084 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePiecewise Sliding Mode Decoupling Fault Tolerant Control SystemRafi Youssef, Hui PengProblem statement: Proposed method in the present study could deal with fault tolerant control system by using the so called decentralized control theory with decoupling fashion sliding mode control, dealing with subsystems instead of whole system and to the knowledge of the author there is no known computational algorithm for decentralized case, Approach: In this study we present a decoupling … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,388 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Fast Series Active Filter using Sliding Mode Control to Correct and Regulate Unbalance Voltage in Three-Phase SystemTheerayuth ChatchanayuenyongProblem statement: A Sliding Mode Controller (SMC) with fast reference voltage generation to correct and regulate unbalance voltage in three-phase system was proposed. Approach: The compensation algorithm was not based on three-symmetrical component decomposition so the controller can yield a fast response that was essential in such a critical real time control work. The reference voltages were fed to the … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,221 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Sliding Mode Command for a System of Coupled ReservoirsRiadh Gamoudi, Mahmoud Ellouze, Abdelkader MamiThis study consisted to determine a discreet order by sliding method that was applied on a regulation procedure of a formed level by communicating reservoirs. The model that represents the system is determined by parametric identification based on the algorithm of the recursive least square with forgetfulness factor. Problem statement: The purpose is to develop a robust order that assuring … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 6,551 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePower Quality Improvement Using a Sliding Mode Control of a Series Active FilterTheerayuth ChatchanayuenyongA sliding mode controller (SMC) for a three-phase series active filter was proposed to compensate voltage unbalances, suppress voltage sags and swells and hence improve the power quality of a three-phase ac system. The voltage unbalance compensation and regulation is only based on the positive sequence component decomposition of the supply voltage that is then adjusted to a rated value … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,584 accessesView PDFCite
