Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSVD-Structural Similarity in the Wavelet-Gabor Domain: Improved Confidence for Face Recognition under Noise, Blur and HazeOhood Fadil Ismael, Zahir M. HussainIn this work we propose and investigate the performance of a new similarity measure based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and structural similarity in the wavelet and Gabor domains. The reasoning behind this combination is to utilize SVD in getting independent components, wavelet decomposition to get the complex frequency features and Gabor filtering to get textural features. A comparison has … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 8 · 29 Aug 2019 · 7,497 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIMAGE COMPRESSION BASED ON SVD AND MPQ-BTCNidhal K. El Abbadi, Adil Al Rammahi, Dheiaa Shakir Redha, Mohammed Abdul-HameedIn this study we will provide a new way of images compression based on two mathematic concepts, these two concepts are Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and Block Truncation Coding. The input image either is in JPEG format or in BMP format and the current way suitable for both color and gray scale images. The input image will be compressed first … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 30 Jun 2014 · 6,954 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRecognition of Pathological Voices by Human Factor Cepstral Coefficients (HFCC)Rabeh Hamdi, Salah Hajji, Adnene CherifHuman speech is a means of communication that is very important in our daily lives. It is characterized by its great ability to transmit our ideas, our emotions, our personality etc. So, any alteration of the voice can prevent the person from exercising his professional and daily life naturally. It is for these reasons that it is very necessary to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 8 · 7 Aug 2020 · 6,859 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFAST IMAGE MATCHING IN HUGE DATABASENidhal K. El Abbadi, Lamis Al SaadiIn today’s multimedia age, images are becoming more and more common in various fields. Database is an area that has found extensive use of images in past few years. With the increased usage of image data, the need to search and matching images efficiently and accurately from a large image database or a cluster of images databases has increased. Image … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 2 Apr 2014 · 6,694 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsIMAGE ENCRYPTION BASED ON SINGULAR VALUE DECOMPOSITIONNidhal K. El Abbadi, Adil Mohamad, Mohammed Abdul-HameedImage encryption is one of the most methods of information hiding. A novel secure encryption method for image encryption is presented in this study. The proposed algorithm based on using singular value decomposition SVD. In this study we start to scramble the image data according to suggested keys (two sequence scrambling process with two different keys) to finally create two … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 19 Feb 2014 · 7,113 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMinimization of ℓ2-Norm of the KSOR OperatorA. I. Alzaki, I. K. YoussefWe consider the problem of minimizing the ℓ2-norm of the KSOR operator when solving a linear systems of the form AX = b where, A = I +B (TJ = -B, is the Jacobi iteration matrix), B is skew symmetric matrix. Based on the eigenvalue functional relations given for the KSOR method, we find optimal values of the relaxation parameter … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 8 Jan 2013 · 7,083 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMatching LSI for Scalable Information RetrievalRajagopal Palsonkennedy, T. V. GopalLatent Semantic Indexing (LSI) is one of the well-liked techniques in the information retrieval fields. Different from the traditional information retrieval techniques, LSI is not based on the keyword matching simply. It uses statistics and algebraic computations. Based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), the higher dimensional matrix is converted to a lower dimensional approximate matrix, of which the noises could … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 2 Jan 2013 · 6,668 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsWavelet Analysis and Orthogonal Moments based Classification of Microcalcification in Digital MammogramsN. V.S. Sree Rathna Lakshmi, C. ManoharanProblem statement: An important early sign of breast cancer is the clusters of micro calcifications in digital mammograms. To assist radiologists in the diagnosis of mammographic clusters a novel hybrid algorithm has been developed. Approach: A method, for detecting micro calcification in mammograms based on combined feature set with Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) was proposed. The diagonal matrix ‘S’ obtained … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 6 Aug 2011 · 6,558 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFixed-Star Tracking Attitude Control of Spacecraft Using Single-Gimbal Control Moment GyrosSangwon Kwon, Yuki Tani, Hiroshi Okubo, Takashi ShimomuraProblem statement: A cluster of small-sized Single-Gimbal Control Moment Gyros (SGCMGs) is proposed as an attitude control actuator for high-speed maneuver of small satellites. There exists a singularity problem what is peculiar to the CMG system. Approach: This study presented a simple singularity avoidance steering law using the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) algorithm. Results: Capability of the present steering method … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,978 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Robust Video Watermarking AlgorithmTahani Al-Khatib, Ali Al-Haj, Lama Rajab, Hiba MohammedProblem statement: Video watermarking is well known as the process of embedding copyright information in video bit streams. It had been proposed in recent years to solve the problem of illegal manipulation and distribution of digital video.
