Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleModelling IoT Systems with UML: A Case Study for Monitoring and Predicting Power ConsumptionMarla Teresinha Barbosa Geller, Anderson Alvarenga de Moura MenesesSoftware Engineering has evolved to meet the growing complexity of current systems and the resources of the Unified Modeling Language (UML) enable the modeling of such systems in different views. The Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm appears with very peculiar characteristics such as the heterogeneity of its physical and virtual components that must be integrated. Designing systems of this nature … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 1 Feb 2021 · 8,356 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMeasuring Power Consumption for Image Processing on Android SmartphoneKhairul Muzzammil Saipullah, Ammar Anuar, Nurul Atiqah Ismail, Yewguan SooThe energy consumption of smartphones can be undertaken in multiple levels of hardware and software. Generally, there are two approaches in measuring power consumption of a smartphone application which are the measurement-based and estimation-based methods. The goal of this study is to compare the two power consumption measuring approaches in quantifying the power consumed by image processing applications in Android … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 17 Jan 2013 · 7,426 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePower Consumption and Performance’s Library on DSPs: Case Study MPEG2Jalel Ktari, Mohamed Abid, Nathalie Julien, Johann LaurentThe growing demand for portable electronic devices has led to an increased emphasis on power consumption within the semiconductor industry. As a result, designers are now encouraged to consider the impact of their decisions not only on speed and area, but also on power throughout the design space exploration. This article presents a high-level design space exploration methodology. It allows … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 6,827 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimization Consumption Power in Internet of Things Technology: A Systematic ReviewNur Yasmin Salleh, Mohd Kamir Yusof, Nur Farraliza MansorThis study reviews algorithms for battery optimization, focusing on estimation methods and State of Charge (SOC) algorithms, which are crucial components of Battery Management Systems (BMS) designed to reduce power consumption. With the increasing global demand for electricity driven by rapid population growth, optimizing energy use has become critical. Accurate estimation of battery capacity is essential for extending battery lifespan … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 13 Feb 2025 · 7,316 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCharacterization of the Electrical Energy Consumption of Some Areas Supplied by the Lomé a Interconnection Station of the CEET in Lomé, Togo: Analysis and DiscussionKrou Iparbè, Palanga Eyouléki Tcheyi Gnadi et al.This study aims to analyze the electricity consumption of Greater Lomé (Togo), a critical issue in view of the increasing needs and imperatives of energy transition. We used 63,943 data samples from the Togo Electric Energy Company (CEET), covering eight sites spread across three municipalities over a period of 84 months (2018-2024). A multidimensional statistical approach was used to evaluate … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 21 Jan 2026 · 3,384 accessesView PDFCite
Case ReportOpen accessIn the keywordsLoad Balancing Technique Based on Broadcasting and Residual Energy Using Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy Protocol (LBEACH)Abdullah Soliman Alshraa, Venus Wazeer SamawiOne of the important factors of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is sensors lifetime. Elongating sensors lifetime increases the benefits from the network capabilities as much as possible. To elongate WSNs lifetime, power consumption should be reduced. To do so, load balance technique is applied to distribute the energy consumption among cluster’s nodes in the WSN. In each cluster, the node … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 13 Oct 2015 · 6,610 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Defense Mechanism for Differential Power Analysis Attack in AESJ. Vijaya, M. RajaramIn modern wireless communication world, the security of data transfer has been the most challenging task. In embedded system, AES is the most extensively used cryptographic algorithm in practice. But its functionality has been disrupted by the DPA attack. There have been several countermeasures to tackle those attacks, but this study proposes variably a new measure to defend this DPA … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 1 Sep 2014 · 7,257 accessesView PDFCite
