Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleENHANCED LOAD BALANCING STRATEGY IN HETEROGENEOUS PEER-TO-PEER NETWORKSP. Murugesan, A. ShanmugamExisting P2P systems provide a Duty Cycle Data Appropriation (DCDA) Technique allocate objects based on ranking among “peer nodes” in a method that result in various nodes containing times as numerous objects as the standard node. Further disparity might effect owing to non-uniform allocation of objects in the identifier break and a high amount of heterogeneity in objective loads and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,429 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnonymous and Distributed Authentication for Peer-to-Peer NetworksPasan Tennakoon, Supipi Karunathilaka, Rishikeshan Lavakumar et al.Well-known authentication mechanisms such as Public-key Infrastructure (PKI) and Identity-based Public-key Certificates (ID-PKC) are not suitable for integration in a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network environment, the reason being either the lack of or the difficulty in maintaining a centralized authority to manage the certificates. Authentication becomes even harder in anonymous environments. In this study, we present three authentication protocols such that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 3 Jan 2023 · 6,539 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSelective Flooding Based on Relevant Nearest-Neighbor using Query Feedback and Similarity across Unstructured Peer-to-Peer NetworksIskandar Ishak, Naomie SalimProblem statement: Efficient searching is a fundamental problem for unstructured peer to peer networks. Flooding requires a lot of resources in the network and thus will increase the search cost. Searching approach that utilizes minimum network resources is required to produce efficient searching in the robust and dynamic peer-to-peer network. Approach: This study addressed the need for efficient flood-based searching … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2009 · 7,696 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA MULTI ATTRIBUTE RANKING MECHANISM FOR PEER-TO-PEER NETWORKSSheila Anand, B. SwaminathanP2P systems are envisioned to play a greater role in collaborative applications. P2P environments remove the challenging task of using servers for information sharing. Emerging collaborative P2P systems require discovery and utilization of multi-attribute, distributed and dynamic group of resources to achieve greater tasks beyond conventional file and processor cycle sharing. The process of selection of a peer for collaborative … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 24 Feb 2014 · 6,879 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Grade-Based Incentive Mechanism for Peer-to-Peer NetworksS. Moses Dian, B. RamadossFree-riding is a desperate and a constant menace to many P2P systems, to violate the cooperation among peers. This study proposes a grade-based approach, which expeditiously maintains fairness in the network by encouraging the high contributed peers and altogether wiping out the free-riders. The Network Contribution Ratio determines the contribution of users globally. Besides, the proposed grading algorithm uses a … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 3 Sep 2012 · 7,489 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleVideo Streaming in Peer-to-Peer Networks Using Network Coding Renders Efficient Video Cassette Recorder OperationsR. Arockia Xavier Annie, K. V. Pradeepthi, P. YogeshProblem statement: Major technological development in recent years has led to the usage of shared streaming solutions by Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Video-on-Demand (VoD) systems in the Internet. Video streaming in P2P network systems has ample amount of loss of video packets due to network disabilities such as congestion, intrusion, connectivity problems, excessive network collisions etc. Adding onto the video streaming problems, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 24 Aug 2012 · 6,736 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleREPLACEMENT MECHANISM OF CACHING TECHNIQUE FOR QUERY ROUTING IN PEER TO PEER NETWORKSUsha Veerasamy Arivazhagu, Subramaniam SrinivasanIn this approach we are proposing an extension to our previous work which deals with Trust Based Routing in the peer to peer network. This peer to peer network is carried out without using a caching mechanism to store the data packets while routing. To achieve this caching mechanism we have proposed methods for caching the data packets in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,376 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAN EFFICIENT HYBRID ALGORITHM TO REDUCE LATENCY IN AD-HOC AGGREGATIONN. Rajkumar, N. K. Senthil Kumar, P. Subha, R. KavithaA data warehouse is a collection of data gathered and organized so that it can easily be analyzed, extracted, synthesized and also be used for the purpose of further understanding data. Peer to Peer networks are used for distribution and sharing of documents. In traditional techniques, when aggregate functions like average, sum and count are encountered, the aggregate operation is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 7 · 18 Feb 2014 · 6,908 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsNapster and its Effects on the Music Industry: An Empirical AnalysisPatrick Mooney, Subarna Samanta, Ali H.M. ZadehProblem statement: In the mid to late 1990s the rise of the internet has led to the development of Peer-to-Peer networks (P2P), which allows for increased and rapid connectivity between individuals and has made the transfer of information and files as simple as clicking a button. Approach: The ability to connect so easily has had its share of positive and … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2010 · 10,074 accessesView PDFCite
