Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsGeographical Division Traceback for Distributed Denial of ServiceA. Viswanathan, V. P. Arunachalam, S. KarthikProblem statement: Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) was a serious threat to the internet world that denies the legitimate users from being access the internet by blocking the service. Approach: In this study, we proposed a novel approach, Geographical Division Traceback (GDT) for efficient IP traceback and DDoS defense methodology. DDoS attack was one of the most serious and threatening … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 23 Nov 2011 · 7,129 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Packet Marketing Method in DDoS Attack DetectionChanghyun Beak, Junaid Ahsenali Chaudhry, Keonsoo Lee et al.Functionality and availability are one of the main characteristics of internet and hence very inviting for attackers to try to provoke a denial-of-service attack. As the intensity and frequency of DDoS attacks has increased, various preventive mechanisms have also been proposed. One of the most effective defence mechanisms proposed was Path Identification (Pi). This method tracks the packet transmission path. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2007 · 7,076 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStateless Aggregate Fair Marking Scheduler for Differentiated Service NetworksNandhini Sivasubramaniam, Palaniammal SenniappanIn diffserv networks, as the traffic flows vary constantly, it is very difficult to maintain the per-flow state. The computation of rate information of the traffic flow also becomes complex. In this study, we propose a Stateless Aggregate Fair Marking (SAMQ) with Multiple Queue Priority Scheduler for Differentiated Service (DiffServ) networks. Initially, priority scheduler is applied to the flows entering … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 9 Feb 2013 · 7,510 accessesView PDF Cite
