Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleColormap Development for Night Vision from Synthetic ImageryH. A. Qadir, S. P. KozaitisWe presented a method for colorizing fused imagery using a synthetic image as the color source. Imagery acquired at night from two sensors with different spectral bands were fused into a single image. We used a color transfer method based on a look-up table approach to change the false color appearance of the fused image to a natural appearance. Because … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 30 Dec 2014 · 8,086 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Multi-Modal Image Fusion Approach for Visual and Infrared Images via Shearlet-Based DecompositionApoorav Sharma, Shagun Sharma, Kalpna Guleria et al.The integration of optical lens technologies with night vision has become necessary due to the increasing demand to enhance public safety and surveillance, particularly in vulnerable areas, public transportation, and airports. Due to vision clarity issues or the lack of thermal information, conventional single-modality systems often fail to detect concealed dangers. This research presents a multimodal image fusion architecture that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 2 Feb 2026 · 1,899 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMetric for the Fusion of Synthetic and Real Imagery from Multimodal SensorsRami Nahas, S. P. KozaitisWe described a method to improve night vision for vehicle navigation that combined images from a thermal infrared camera and from a public database of stored images. Such an approach allows a night scene to appear as if it were daytime for automotive applications thereby increasing safety. We described a new metric to evaluate the fusion of such an augmented … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 30 Dec 2014 · 7,896 accessesView PDF Cite
