Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Control Algorithms for Second Order SystemsDanilo Pelusi, Raffaele MascellaProportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers are widely used in industrial processes for their simplicity and robustness. The main application problems are the tuning of PID parameters to obtain good settling time, rise time and overshoot. The challenge is to improve the timing parameters to achieve optimal control performances. Remarkable findings are obtained through the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques as … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 2 Apr 2013 · 7,029 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractApplication of Neuro-Fuzzy Techniques for Solar RadiationW. A. Rahoma, U. Ali Rahoma, A. H. HassanProblem statement: The prediction is very useful in solar energy applications because it permits to estimate solar data for locations where measurements are not available. The developed artificial intelligence models predict the solar radiation time series more effectively compared to the conventional procedures based on the clearness index. Approach: The forecasting ability of some models could be further enhanced with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 11 Aug 2011 · 7,077 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of Synthetic Optimizing Neuro Fuzzy Temperature Controller for Dual Screw Profile Plastic Extruder Using LabviewRavi Samikannu, Balakrishnan Anantharaman PoonamallieProblem statement: The temperature control in plastic extrusion machine is an important factor to produce high quality plastic products. The first order temperature control system in plastic extrusion comprises of coupling effects, long delay time and large time constants. Controlling temperature is very difficult as the process is multistage process and the system coupled with each other. In order to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,112 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractQualitative Ferromagnetic Hysteresis ModelingM. Mordjaoui, M. Chabane, B. Boudjema, R. DairaIn determining the electromagnetic properties of magnetic materials, hysteresis modeling is of high importance. Many models are available to investigate those characteristics but they tend to be complex and difficult to implement. A new qualitative hysteresis model for ferromagnetic core presented, based on the function approximation capabilities of adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The proposed ANFIS model combined the neural … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 7,076 accessesView PDFCite
