Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStudy of Network on Chip resources allocation for QoS ManagementAbdelhamid HELALI, Adel SOUDANI, Jamila BHAR, Salem NASRIThe increasing complexity of integrated circuits and application requirements drive the research of new on-chip interconnection architectures. A network on chip draws on concepts inherited from distributed systems and computer networks subject areas to interconnect IP cores in a structured and scalable way. The main goal pursued is to achieve superior bandwidth when compared to conventional on-chip bus architectures. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2006 · 6,311 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExploring Optimal Topology and Routing Algorithm for 3D Network on ChipN. Viswanathan, K. Paramasivam, K. SomasundaramProblem statement: Network on Chip (NoC) is an appropriate candidate to implement interconnections in SoCs. Increase in number of IP blocks in 2D NoC will lead to increase in chip area, global interconnect, length of the communication channel, number of hops transversed by a packet, latency and difficulty in clock distribution. 3D NoC is evolved to overcome the drawbacks of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 12 Jan 2012 · 7,190 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCoupling Routing Algorithm and Data Encoding for Low Power Networks on ChipMaurizio Palesi, Davide Patti, Giuseppe Ascia et al.The routing algorithm used in a Network-on-Chip (NoC) has a strong impact on both the functional and non functional indices of the overall system. Traditionally, routing algorithms have been designed considering performance and cost as the main objectives. In this study we focus on two important non functional metrics, namely, power dissipation and energy consumption. We propose a selection policy … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 4 May 2015 · 6,932 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSOPC BASED WIRELESS REMOTE PATIENT MONITORING USING ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT CRYPTOGRAPHYA. Arun, P. Nirmal KumarRemote Patient Monitoring (RPM) provides flexible and powerful patient surveillance through wearable devices at anytime and anywhere. This can be achieved by using a Body Sensor Network (BSN), which is deployed on a human body for monitoring the healthcare. The mobile healthcare management with increased feasibility and handiness introduced several noteworthy challenges for the provider, policy makers, patient and hospitals. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 8 May 2014 · 7,198 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAsynchronous NoC Router DesignSami Badrouchi, Abdelkrim Zitouni, Kholdoun Torki, Rached TourkiThe Quality of Service Network on Chip (QNoC) is the most perferment solution that provides low latency transfers and power efficient System on Chip (SoC) interconnect. This study presents an asynchronous NoC router, for use in 2-D mesh-connected networks. It comprises multiple interconnected input and output ports and dynamic arbitration mechanisms that resolve any output port conflicts based on the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 7,417 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Load and Routing Protocols on Networks on Chip (NoC): An AnalysisShaily Jain, Chander Prabha, Ayman Noor et al.Communication infrastructure for multi-core Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) is provided by Network-on-Chip (NoC). Point-to-Point (P2P) and bus-based communication systems are NoCs and are two communication channels of NoC that can probably overcome the scalability and performance restrictions of NoC. Latency and throughput are two of the essential characteristic metrics measured for a routing algorithm that affect the performance of a given NoC. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 11 · 29 Aug 2024 · 5,279 accessesView PDFCite
