Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPerformance Improvement of SNP Search Using Multithread ProgrammingGeraldo Francisco Donegá Zafalon, Álvaro Magri Nogueira da Cruz, Anderson Rici Amorim et al.Pattern recognition is an important field in Bioinformatics and a well-known task is the search for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP). It is possible to search for a known SNP position and analyze it using patterns of DNA bases, called masks. Nonetheless, this process becomes computationally expensive as the amount of available genomic data increases. Thus, in this study, we have … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 7 Nov 2018 · 7,734 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDynamic Allocation of CPUs in Multicore Processor for Performance Improvement in Network Security ApplicationsSudhakar Gummadi, Radhakrishnan ShanmugasundaramProblem statement: Multicore and multithreaded CPUs have become the new approach for increase in the performance of the processor based systems. Numerous applications benefit from use of multiple cores. Increasing performance of the system by increasing the number of CPUs of the multicore processor for a given application warrants detailed experimentation. In this study, the results of the experimentation done … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,844 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalyzing Performance and Power of Multicore Architecture Using Multithreaded Iterative SolverIngyu LeeProblem statement: Scientific modeling and simulations have been popularly used with experiments and theoretical analysis in science and engineering communities. Approach: Consequently, computational demands are growing exponentially to afford large scale modeling and simulations. Results: As a result, multicore computing architectures had been proposed and several products are already available. However, we do not have a proper study on the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2010 · 7,212 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOmega Network Hash ConstructionChai Wen Chuah, Azman SamsudinProblem statement: Cryptographic hash functions are important cryptographic primitives. They are commonly used for data integrity checking and data authentication. Most of the cryptographic hash functions are based on the Merkle-Damgård construction. The basic Merkle-Damgård construction runs over the input sequentially, which can lead to problems when the input size is large since the computation time increases linearly. Approach: Therefore, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,123 accessesView PDF Cite
