Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdding Quality of Service Extensions to the Enhanced Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET)Ayman Mansour Murad, Bassam Al-MahadeenThis paper described how to discover routes that can satisfy QoS service requirements by using extensions to the Enhanced Associativity Bases Routing Protocol (EABR). These extensions were added to the messages used during route discovery. These extensions specify the service requirements, which must be met by nodes re-broadcasting a route request or returning a route reply for a destination. Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSimulation of the Enhanced Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET)Ayman Mansour Murad, Bassam Al-MahadeenThe simulations results showed that the overall EABR enhancement, when compared with ABR, in terms of communication overhead was ranging from 36% to 56%. While the overall EABR enhancement in terms of number of operation required to reconstructing the route was ranging from 36% to 55%. These enhancements were contributed to the novel way in route reconstructing introduced by EABR. …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 6,964 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEnhanced Route Re-Construction Method for Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET)Fawaz A.M. Masoud, Said A. Shaar, Ayman Murad, Ghassan KanaanA mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is wireless network composed of mobile nodes that are dynamically and randomly located in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on a continual basis. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The primary goal of such an ad-hoc … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Q-Routing Protocol Using Self-Aware Approach for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksAmal Alharbi, Abdullah Al-Dhalaan, Miznah Al-RodhaanMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are self-organized networks that are characterized by dynamic topologies in time and space. This creates an instable environment, where classical routing approaches cannot achieve high performance. Thus, adaptive routing is necessary to handle the challenges in MANETs. Furthermore, it is necessary for nodes to be self-aware i.e., able to discover neighbors, links and paths when … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,468 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSecured Routing with Authentication in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksT. Guru Baskar, D. ManimegalaiA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a temporary network without any fixed infrastructure. Each node participates in the ad hoc routing protocol that helps it to discover multi-hop paths through the network to any node. Security challenges have become a primary concern for these networks due to their characteristics such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 9 May 2013 · 6,070 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSurvey on Mobile Ad Hoc Network Attacks and Mitigation Using Routing ProtocolsS. P. Manikandan, R. ManimegalaiMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) due to its unpredictable topology and bandwidth limitations are vulnerable to attacks. Establishing security measures and finding secure routes are the major challenges faced by MANET. Security issues faced by ad hoc networks are node authentication, insider attack and intrusion detection. Implementing security measures is challenging due to the presence of limited resources in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 1 Sep 2012 · 6,856 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,725 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCongestion Free Routing in Adhoc NetworksT. Senthil Kumaran, V. SankaranarayananProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a temporary network; the mobile devices in an ad-hoc network are communicating through wireless links without any pre-existing infrastructure. The one major problem of this network is network congestion, it may take place at any intermediate nodes when data packets are traveling from source to destination. The major problems of congestion or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 4 Apr 2012 · 7,240 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAdaptive Multi-Path Routing for Load Balancing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Soundararajan, R. S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Load balancing and network congestion are the major problems in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) routing. Most of the existing routing protocols provide solutions to load balancing or congestion or fault-tolerance, individually. Approach: We propose congestion controlled adaptive multi-path routing protocol to achieve load balancing and avoid congestion in MANETs. The algorithm for finding multi-path routes computes fail-safe multiple … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 7,451 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSystem of One to Three Umpire Security System for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc NetworkC. Rajabhushanam, A. KathirvelProblem statement: A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-created self-organized and self-administering set of nodes connected via wireless links without the aid of any fixed infrastructure or centralized administrator. Protecting the network layer from malicious attacks is an important and challenging issue in both wired and wireless networks and the issue becomes even more challenging in the case … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 7,244 accessesView PDFCite
