Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Q-Routing Protocol Using Self-Aware Approach for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksAmal Alharbi, Abdullah Al-Dhalaan, Miznah Al-RodhaanMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are self-organized networks that are characterized by dynamic topologies in time and space. This creates an instable environment, where classical routing approaches cannot achieve high performance. Thus, adaptive routing is necessary to handle the challenges in MANETs. Furthermore, it is necessary for nodes to be self-aware i.e., able to discover neighbors, links and paths when … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,463 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSecured Routing with Authentication in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksT. Guru Baskar, D. ManimegalaiA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a temporary network without any fixed infrastructure. Each node participates in the ad hoc routing protocol that helps it to discover multi-hop paths through the network to any node. Security challenges have become a primary concern for these networks due to their characteristics such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 9 May 2013 · 6,065 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,723 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdaptive Multi-Path Routing for Load Balancing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksS. Soundararajan, R. S. BhuvaneswaranProblem statement: Load balancing and network congestion are the major problems in Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANET) routing. Most of the existing routing protocols provide solutions to load balancing or congestion or fault-tolerance, individually. Approach: We propose congestion controlled adaptive multi-path routing protocol to achieve load balancing and avoid congestion in MANETs. The algorithm for finding multi-path routes computes fail-safe multiple … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 18 Feb 2012 · 7,449 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleThe Use of Taguchi Method to Determine Factors Affecting the Performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksHazura. Mohamed, Muhammad Hisyam Lee, Mazalan Sarahintu et al.In this study, Taguchi method was used to identify the several factors that may affect the performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector (DSDV) routing protocol. The performance of DSDV routing protocol in mobile ad hoc networks were greatly influence by factors such as node speed, node pause time and traffic load. Problem statement: By using orthogonal experimental design and analysis … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,797 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Novel Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Noraziah AhmedIn mobile ad hoc networks, how to achieve the multicast communication is a challenging task due to the fact that the topology may change frequently and communication links may be broken because of users' mobility. We introduced MANHSI (Multicast for Ad hoe Network with hybrid Swarm Intelligence) protocol, which relies on a swarm intelligence based optimization technique to learn and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 7,297 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHybrid Optimize Strategy based QoS Route Algorithm for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksFu Peng, Zhang DeyunIt is very difficult to find feasible QoS (Quality of service) routes in the mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs), because of the nature constrains of it, such as dynamic network topology, wireless communication link and limited process capability of nodes. In order to reduce average cost in flooding path discovery scheme of the traditional MANETs routing protocols and increase the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMESSAGE AUTHENTICATION CODE BASED SECURE GROUP KEY MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKST. Peer Meera Labbai, V. RajamaniA mobile ad hoc network is a group of nodes which are communicating with each other with the use of radio frequencies. When there is high movement of mobile nodes, the nodes find difficult to reach other nodes. If the data are exchanged between nodes when there is high mobility, the data may be lost in transit. Therefore the security … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 6,727 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSecure Enhanced Authenticated Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksM. Rajesh Babu, S. SelvanProblem statement: This study propose an improvement of Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing protocol in order to include some of the aspects of ad hoc networks such as load balancing, congestion avoidance and avoidance of link breakage. Approach: The most important problem nowadays is link breakage which mainly occurs due to excessive load and congestion in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,620 accessesView PDFCite
