Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleInput-Output Feedback Linearization Cascade Controller Using Genetic Algorithm for Rotary Inverted Pendulum SystemIraj Hassanzadeh, Saleh Mobayen, Abbas HarifiThe Rotary Inverted Pendulum (RIP) system is a significant classical problem of control engineering which has been investigated in the past decades. This study presents an optimum Input- Output Feedback Linearization (IOFL) cascade controller utilized Genetic Algorithm (GA). Due to the non-minimum phase behavior of the system, IOFL controller leads to unstable internal dynamics. Therefore a cascade structure is proposed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2008 · 7,403 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleIntelligent Control for Self-erecting Inverted Pendulum Via Adaptive Neuro-fuzzy Inference SystemA. A. Saifizul, Z. Zainon, N. A.Abu Osman et al.A self-erecting single inverted pendulum (SESIP) is one of typical nonlinear systems. The control scheme running the SESIP consists of two main control loops. Namely, these control loops are swing-up controller and stabilization controller. A swing-up controller of an inverted pendulum system must actuate the pendulum from the stable position. While a stabilization controller must stand the pendulum in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2006 · 7,322 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReal-Time Optimal Control for Rotary Inverted PendulumViroch Sukontanakarn, Manukid ParnichkunProblem statement: The rotary inverted pendulum system was a highly nonlinear model, multivariable and absolutely unstable dynamic system. It was used for testing various design control techniques and in teaching modern control. The objectives of this study were to: (i) Develop a real rotary inverted pendulum which derived the mechanical model by using Euler-Lagrange and (ii) Design controller algorithm for … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,846 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA REVIEW OF INTELLIGENT CONTROL SYSTEMS APPLIED TO THE INVERTED-PENDULUM PROBLEMPedro Ponce, Arturo Molina, Eugenio AlvarezThis study shows the latest advances in the application of intelligent control to the inverted-pendulum problem. A complete review regarding intelligent control design is presented in this study in order to show the most important artificial intelligence methods used for controlling an Inverted-Pendulum. Also this study proposed the use of a neural-fuzzy-with-genetic-algorithms controller for the inverted pendulum problem which gives … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 7 Apr 2014 · 8,379 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFault Reconstruction Using Sliding Mode ObserversK. Hakiki, B. Mazari, A. Liazid, S. DjaberIn this study, a nonlinear sliding observer is proposed to explicitly reconstruct fault signals. The novelty lies in the application of the equivalent output injection concept. Previous work in the area of fault detection has used disruption of the sliding motion to detect faults. The aim of the present study was to design a robust observer that slides in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 6,680 accessesView PDF Cite
