Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Novel Image Component Transmission Approach to Improve Image Quality and Energy Efficiency in Wireless Sensor NetworksWei Wang, Dongming Peng, Honggang Wang, Hamid SharifDue to resource constraints, digital image transmissions are a significant challenge for image sensor based Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). In this paper, we propose a novel robust and energy-efficient scheme, called Image Component Transmission (ICT) in WSN by providing various levels of reliability during image transmissions. Different components in the embedded wavelet image bit stream are considered and essential components … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 7,247 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Adaptive Detail Preserving Modified Progressive Pca Thresholding Based Image DenoisingN. Anilkumar, S. Radhakrishnan, Shaik Syed Basha et al.Radiologists use medical imaging tools to assess the anatomy and function of interior organs. However, medical images are frequently distorted by various types of noise generated during the capture, transmission, and reconstruction operations, which can dramatically reduce image quality and hide critical diagnostic features. As a result, developing effective denoising algorithms that suppress noise while maintaining structural information remains a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 8 · 8 Sep 2026 · 529 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnhancing the Color Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Tree (SPIHT) Algorithm Using Correlation TheoryM. Santhi, R. S.D. Wahida BanuProblem statement: Efficient color image compression algorithm is essential for mass storage and the transmission of the image. The compression efficiency of the Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Tree (SPIHT) coding algorithm for color images is improved by using correlation theory. Approach: In this study the correlation between the color channels are used to propose the new algorithm. The correlation between … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 16 Jul 2011 · 6,617 accessesView PDF Cite
