Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsROTATING A MEMS INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNIT FOR A FOOT-MOUNTED PEDESTRIAN NAVIGATIONKhairi Abdulrahim, Chris Hide, Terry Moore, Chris HillPedestrian navigation especially indoors suffers from the unavailability of useful GNSS signals for positioning. Alternatively, a low-cost Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) positioning system that does not depend on the GNSS signal can be used for indoor navigation. However its performance is still compromised because of the fast-accumulating heading drift error affecting such a low-cost IMU sensor. This results in a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 5 Jan 2015 · 8,665 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMiniature-Autopilot Evaluation SystemKamal Ali, Lamarious CarterThis research describes a Hardware in the Loop Simulator (HILS) that was developed to enhance the quality of attitude data received from autopilots. The described system aided in adjusting the contribution of individual IMU sensors and thereby improved the accuracy of IMU data. The HILS system outlined in this research is a gimbaled platform equipped with four stepper motors and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2008 · 6,945 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReal-Time Monitoring and Injury Risk Warning Algorithm Based on Data Fusion of Motor Muscle ContractionGuomin Wang, Jingying HuangThe existing sports injury warning algorithms are difficult to achieve dynamic injury risk modeling based on individual muscle characteristics while ensuring real-time fusion efficiency of multimodal signals. This article proposes a real-time muscle contraction state perception and injury risk warning algorithm based on adaptive weighted feature fusion and lightweight temporal modeling. The system synchronously collected surface electromyography (sEMG), Inertial Measurement … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 22, Issue 3 · 10 Aug 2026 · 1,089 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproved Model Predictive Control System Design and Implementation for Unmanned Ground VehiclesSai Charan Dekkata, Sun Yi, MA Muktadir et al.Autonomous ground robots autonomously are being used inthe places where it is very hazardous for human beings to reach and operate, such as nuclear power plants and chemical industries. The aim of the researchpresented here is to develop a control system that enables such ground robotsnavigate autonomously with various sensors as the depth camera, 2D scanninglaser, 3D Lidar, GPS, and IMU. … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 27 Oct 2022 · 6,000 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMorphological Features of Rodoretto Valley Deep-Seated Gravitational Slope DeformationsMaria Gabriella Forno, Andrea Lingua, Stefano Lo Russo, Glenda TaddiaA new, detailed survey of the Rodoretto Valley (Western Alps, Italy) has been conducted resulting in the production of a new morphological and quaternary geological map of the area. The authors used the innovative Solid (True) Ortho-Photo (STOP) technology integrated with navigation sensors (Global Navigation Satellite System-GNSS/Inertial Measurement Unit-IMU). This state-of-the-art procedure has demonstrated several operational advantages during both the … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 9 Feb 2013 · 7,031 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of an Ultra-Miniaturized Inertial Measurement Unit for Jaw Movement Analysis during Free ChewingZhuohua Lin, Massimiliano Zecca, Salvatore Sessa et al.Problem statement: Jaw movement analysis, as a clinical aid, can provide an objective basis for understanding and diagnosing jaw musculoskeletal disorders. Therefore, the use and development of devices for quantitatively measuring and analyzing jaw movement have become more common and popular in the clinic. Many types of jaw tracking devices have been developed, but most of them are still not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 8,155 accessesView PDFCite
