Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleControl of Hybrid Systems With Independent Continuous and Discrete GoalsM. De la Sen, J.C. Soto, A. Gallego, J.L. MalainaThis paper deals with the control of a class of perfectly modelled linear hybrid systems which consist of two, in general coupled, subsystems one being continuous -time while the second one is digital. Both subsystems are driven by continuous time and sampled values of a control input. The description of the overall system is given through an extended hybrid system … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,133 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficiency of Hybrid MPPT Techniques Based on ANN and PSO for Photovoltaic Systems under Partially Shading ConditionsMax Tatsuhiko Mitsuya, Anderson Alvarenga de Moura MenesesHybrid Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithms have been investigated as an alternative to improve the performance of conventional MPPT, such as Perturb and Observe (P&O), Incremental Conductance (InC) and Hill Climbing (HC) in Photovoltaic (PV) systems under Partially Shading Co+ndition (PSC). In the present article, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) hybridized with P&O algorithm for … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 3 Oct 2019 · 8,888 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVolatility-Aware Hybrid Memory Architecture for Real-Time and Persistent Big Data SystemsMohammed Elhabib Maicha, Mohammed Redha BouzidiAs data volumes and real-time analytics demands grow, DRAM only memory systems struggle to scale cost-efficiently and sustainably. We present VA-HMA, a volatility-aware hybrid memory architecture that combines DRAM and Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) with a lightweight, machine-learned placement layer and endurance-aware fault tolerance. VA-HMA continuously monitors access patterns and applies a Random Forest–based predictor to guide batched page migrations and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 6 · 27 Jun 2026 · 1,214 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFault Detection and Isolation in Dynamic Systems using Statistical Local Approach and Hybrid Least Squares AlgorithmBelkacem Athamena, Zina Houhamdi, Mohammed MuhairatA fault detection and isolation (FDI) scheme for dynamic system proposed. This study deals with the design of discrete-time linear system using delta operator approach and the hybrid least squares (HLS) algorithm. A third residual generation based on statistical local approach and the derivative of the normalized residual on a small temporal window investigated. This new technique meets the desired … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2007 · 7,430 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Hybrid Decision-Making Model for Maintenance Prioritization in Health Care SystemsHassana Mahfoud, Abdellah El Barkany, Ahmed El BiyaaliClinical engineering departments have to establish and continuously regulate a Medical Equipment Management Program (MEMP) to ensure a high reliability and safety of their critical medical devices. Asset criticality assessment is an essential element of reliability centered maintenance and risk-based maintenance, especially when enormous various devices exist and the worst failure consequences are not evident. This paper presents a new … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 4 · 28 Apr 2016 · 8,678 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA New Robust Hybrid Approach to Enhance Speech in Mobile Communication SystemsManimegalai Govindan Sumithra, Keppana Gounder Thanuskodi, Bharathi DeepaProblem statement: The received voice signal in mobile communication is often disturbed by background noise and hence there is a need for good noise reduction methods for enhancing Speech. It is well known that denoising is a compromise between the removal of the largest possible amount of noise and the preservation of signal integrity. To address this issue, a new … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 18 Apr 2011 · 7,299 accessesView PDFCite
