Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFDIR Strategy for Sensor Faults During Re-entry FlightGianfranco Morani, Mariangela Di LorenzoIn this study, a Fault Detection, Isolation and Reconfiguration (FDIR) strategy is proposed for dealing with the problem of single sensor faults during a re-entry flight. The proposed algorithms rely on a model based Fault Detection and Isolation. After the generation of a residual through a Kalman filter observer, detection is obtained via the estimation of residual signal statistics while … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 7 Apr 2018 · 8,690 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSliding Mode Observer-Based Fault Reconstruction for Uncertain Linear SystemsSlim Dhahri, Faycal Ben Hmida, Anis SellamiProblem statement: Fault reconstruction scheme is different from the majority of Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) methods described in the literature in the sense that it not only detects and isolates the fault, but provides an estimate of the fault. This approach is very useful for incipient faults and slow drifts, which are very difficult to detect. Also, this approach … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 8 Sep 2011 · 7,350 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFault Detection and Classification in Power Electronic Circuits Using Wavelet Transform and Neural NetworkVenugopal Prasannamoorthy, Nanjundappan DevarajanProblem statement: The identification of faults in any analog circuit is highly required to ensure the reliability of the circuit. Early detection of faults in a circuit can greatly assist in maintenance of the system by avoiding possibly harmful damage borne out of the fault. Approach: A novel method for establishing a fault dictionary using Wavelet transform is presented. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 15 Jan 2011 · 8,415 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFault Detection and Isolation in Dynamic Systems using Statistical Local Approach and Hybrid Least Squares AlgorithmBelkacem Athamena, Zina Houhamdi, Mohammed MuhairatA fault detection and isolation (FDI) scheme for dynamic system proposed. This study deals with the design of discrete-time linear system using delta operator approach and the hybrid least squares (HLS) algorithm. A third residual generation based on statistical local approach and the derivative of the normalized residual on a small temporal window investigated. This new technique meets the desired … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2007 · 7,430 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFailure Diagnosis on Discrete Event SystemsSihem Kechida, Nasr Eddine DebbacheThe modern technology advances to a point where it is possible and extensively desirable to improve reliability and the technical process safety. This is achieved by computer implanted FDI procedures (Fault Detection and Isolation). However, the malfunction of actuators, sensors and of the process components, as well as erroneous actions of human operators can have some disastrous consequences in high … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2005 · 6,888 accessesView PDF Cite
