EditorialOpen accessIn the abstractNeutrophil Extracellular Traps as Therapeutic Targets for Inflammatory DiseaseRory R. KoenenNeutrophilic granulocytes, or neutrophils are the most abundant circulating white blood cell and constitute a first line of defense against pathogens. They are characterized by a large polymorphic lobular nucleus and the presence of many secretory granules in their cytoplasm. Neutrophils are essential for a functional host defense, as is evidenced by the occurrence of severe infections in individuals with … …American Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 25 Feb 2015 · 8,737 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Concept of Event-Driven TimeSergey K. AityanThe most fascinating feature of time is that there is no time at all. This study introduces the concept of event-driven time. Time is considered a count of changes or events that set up a local “clock” in each system. With such an approach, every system runs its own local time. Time does not exist without changes in the system. … …Physics International, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 26 Jan 2012 · 8,396 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordBlock-Matching Twitter Data for Traffic Event LocationAmal Shuqair, Samuel KozaitisWe used a block-matching approach that is data-driven and relies mostly on patterns of tagged speech in Twitter streams as a way to identify events in road traffic. Events are useful because their location may identify the status of road segments, especially when cross-street data are available. Basing a system on patterns that are not pre-defined has the advantage of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 12 Apr 2017 · 7,616 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordPERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF ANTI-COLLISION ENABLED ROBOT USING HYBRID BEACON SCHEDULING APPROACHP. Prabakaran, M. SaravananIn multi-robot environment, when many robots are moving in the same workspace, there is a possibility of their physical collision with themselves as well as with physical objects. In this study, hybrid beacon scheduling protocol is proposed and for avoiding such collisions in robotic mobile environment with low latency and power consumption. The purpose of deploying this protocol is to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 5 · 6 Mar 2014 · 6,449 accessesView PDF Cite
