Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleProduct Moments of Sample Variances and Correlation for Variables with Bivariate Normal DistributionJuan Romero-PadillaA general result to obtain the product moments of two sample variances and the sample correlation when the data follow a bivariate normal distribution is derived; the result is expressed in terms of the hypergeometric function. As corollaries, two general equations are stated, one to obtain the moments of the correlation sample and one to obtain the moments of the … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 15 Mar 2016 · 7,282 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimization of Penalty Parameter in Penalized Nonlinear Canonical Correlation Analysis by using Cross-ValidationIsamu NagaiThere is Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA) as a way to find a linear relationship between a pair of random vectors. However, CCA cannot find a nonlinear relationship between them since the method maximizes the correlation between linear combinations of the vectors. In order to find the nonlinear relationship, we convert the vectors through some known conversion functions like a kernel … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 22 Dec 2015 · 7,661 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntegrating Correlation Clustering and Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering for Holistic Schema MatchingBasel Alshaikhdeeb, Kamsuriah AhmadHolistic schema matching is the process of carrying off several number of schemas as an input and outputs the correspondences among them. Treating large number of schemas may consume longer time with poor quality. Therefore, several clustering approaches have been proposed in order to reduce the search space by partitioning the data into smaller portions which can facilitate the matching … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 3 Apr 2015 · 6,389 accessesView PDFCite
