Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDesign and Development of an Intelligent Control by Using Bee Colony Optimization TechniqueS. Tiacharoen, T. ChatchanayuenyongProblem statement: In the modern industrial manufacturing system, the efficiency of machine control is essential to reduce waste and increase the output. Most of the manufacturing machines employ an induction motor in their driving system. A number of induction motors must be controlled during machine operation. The more accurately these motors are controlled the higher is the quality of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 4 Aug 2012 · 6,806 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Independent Rough Set Approach Hybrid with Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for Dimensionality ReductionNambiraj Suguna, Keppana Gowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: Dimensionality reduction is viewed as an important pre-processing step for pattern recognition and data mining. As the classical rough set model considers the entire attribute set as a whole to find the subset, comparing all possible combinations of sets of attributes is difficult. Approach: In this study, we have introduced an improved Rough Set-based Attribute Reduction (RSAR) namely … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 25 Mar 2011 · 8,334 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPredicting Missing Attribute Values Using k-Means ClusteringNambiraj Suguna, Keppana Gowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: Predicting the value for missing attributes is an important data preprocessing problem in data mining and knowledge discovery tasks. Several methods have been proposed to treat missing data and the one used more frequently is deleting instances containing at least one missing value of a feature. When the dataset has minimum number of missing attribute values then we … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 7,873 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractProduction Scheduling for Dispatching Ready Mixed Concrete Trucks Using Bee Colony OptimizationSakchai Srichandum, Thammasak RujirayanyongProblem statement: This study proposed a systematic model of delivering Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) that optimizes the schedule of dispatching RMC trucks. Approach: Firstly, the factors that impact the RMC delivery process are analyzed. Secondly, a model based on Bee Colony Optimization (BCO) was developed in order to find the best dispatching schedule that minimize the total waiting time of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2010 · 9,322 accessesView PDF Cite
