Review ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnt Colony Optimization Approaches in Wireless Sensor Network: Performance EvaluationHusna Jamal Abdul Nasir, Ku Ruhana Ku-Mahamud, Eiji KamiokaWireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been widely implemented in large sectors such as military, habitat, business, industrial, health and environment. WSN is part of a distributed system where elements such as routing, load balancing, energy efficiency, node localization, time synchronization, data aggregation and security need to be addressed to improve its efficiency, robustness, extendibility, applicability and reliability. Despite multiple approaches … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 6 · 24 Jun 2017 · 8,533 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMaximally Distant Codes Allocation Using Chemical Reaction Optimization and Ant Colony Optimization AlgorithmsTaisir Eldos, Waleed Nazih, Aws KananError correcting codes, also known as error controlling codes, are set of codes with redundancy that allows detecting errors. This is quite useful in transmitting data over a noisy channel or when retrieving data from a storage with possible physical defects. The idea is to use a set of code words that are maximally distant from each other, hence reducing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 5 Nov 2015 · 7,000 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnt Colony Optimization for Load Management Based on Load Shifting in the Textile IndustryChaimongkon Chokpanyasuwan, Tika Bunnag, Ratthasak PrommasThe textile industry is a complicated manufacturing industry because it is a fragmented and heterogeneous sector dominated by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). There are various energy-efficiency opportunities that exist in every textile plant. However, even cost-effective options often are not implemented in textile plants mostly because of limited information on how to implement energy-efficiency measures. This paper presents the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 9 Apr 2015 · 7,116 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleENHANCEMENT AND COMPARISON OF ANT COLONY OPTIMIZATION FOR SOFTWARE RELIABILITY MODELSLatha Shanmugam, Lilly FlorenceIn Common parlance, the traditional software reliability estimation methods often rely on assumptions like statistical distributions that are often dubious and unrealistic. The ability to predict the number of faults during development phase and a proper testing process helps in specifying timely release of software and efficient management of project resources. In the Present Study Enhancement and Comparison of Ant … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,561 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMobile Anonymous Trust Based Routing Using Ant Colony OptimizationR. Kalpana, N. RengarajanProblem statement: Ad hoc networks are susceptible to malicious attacks through denial of services, traffic analysis and spoofing. The security of the ad hoc routing protocol depends upon encryption, authentication, anonymity and trust factors. End-to-end security of data is provided by encryption and authentication, topology information of the nodes can be obtained by studying traffic and routing data. This security … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 30 Jun 2012 · 6,946 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnt Colony Optimization for Container Loading ProblemC. N. Yap, L. S. Lee, Z. A. Majid, H. V. SeowProblem statement: The Container Loading Problem (CLP) considers packing a subset of given rectangular boxes into a rectangular container of fixed dimensions in the most optimum way. This was very important in the logistics industries and warehousing problems, since the cost can be reduced by increasing the space utilization ratio. Approach: This problem was solved in a two-phased Ant Colony … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 20 Mar 2012 · 8,561 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA New Ventricular Late Potential Classification System Using Ant Colony OptimizationA. Sankara Subramanian, G. Gurusamy, G. SelvakumarProblem statement: Ventricular Late Potentials (VLPs) are low-level high frequency signals that are usually found within the terminal part of the QRS complex from patients after myocardial infarction. Patients with VLPs are at risk of developing ventricular tachycardia, which is the major cause of death if patients suffering from heart disease. Approach: Discrete Wavelet Transform was used to detect VLPs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 30 Nov 2011 · 6,883 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHybrid Ant Colony Optimization and Genetic Algorithm for Rule InductionHayder Naser Khraibet AL-Behadili, Ku Ruhana Ku-Mahamud, Rafid SagbanIn this study, a hybrid rule-based classifier namely, ant colony optimization/genetic algorithm ACO/GA is introduced to improve the classification accuracy of Ant-Miner classifier by using GA. The Ant-Miner classifier is efficient, useful and commonly used for solving rule-based classification problems in data mining. Ant-Miner, which is an ACO variant, suffers from local optimization problem which affects its performance. In our … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 7 · 24 Jul 2020 · 7,899 accessesView PDFCite
