Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEmbedding Malaysian House Red Ant Behavior into an Ant Colony SystemZ. A. Othman, H. M. Rais, A. R. HamdanProblem statement: Ant Colony System (ACS) is the most popular algorithm used to find a shortest path solution in Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP). Several ACS versions have been proposed which aim to achieve an optimum solution by adjusting pheromone levels. However, it still has a room on an improvement. This research aims to improve the algorithm by embedding individual Malaysian … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,961 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleFault Tolerance Grid Scheduling with Checkpoint Based on Ant Colony SystemSaufi Bukhari, Ku Ruhana Ku-Mahamud, Hiroaki MorinoTask resubmission and checkpoint are among several popular techniques used in providing fault tolerance in grid computing. However, due to the lack of side-by-side comparison, it is not certain of the best technique that would not degrade the system performance in addition to providing fault tolerance capability. This study proposed Dynamic ACS-based Fault Tolerance in grid computing using resubmission to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 8 · 1 Sep 2017 · 7,139 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSystem Evolving using Ant Colony Optimization AlgorithmNada M.A. AL-SalamiProblem statement: The goal of automatic programming system is to create, in an automated way, a computer program that enables a computer to solve a problem. It is difficult to build an automatic programming system: They require carefully designed specification languages and an intimate knowledge base. Determine the relevance of mathematical system theory to the problems of automatic programming and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 5 · 30 May 2009 · 7,516 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA New Ventricular Late Potential Classification System Using Ant Colony OptimizationA. Sankara Subramanian, G. Gurusamy, G. SelvakumarProblem statement: Ventricular Late Potentials (VLPs) are low-level high frequency signals that are usually found within the terminal part of the QRS complex from patients after myocardial infarction. Patients with VLPs are at risk of developing ventricular tachycardia, which is the major cause of death if patients suffering from heart disease. Approach: Discrete Wavelet Transform was used to detect VLPs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 30 Nov 2011 · 6,883 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSolving Traffic Routing System using VANet Strategy Combined with a Distributed Swarm Intelligence OptimizationElgarej Mouhcine, Khalifa Mansouri, Youssfi MohamedProposing an efficient strategy to reduce traffic congestion is an essential step towards improvement as we take into consideration the unpredictable and dynamic infrastructure of the road network. With the advances in computing technologies and communications protocols, we can retrieve any type of data and receive in real-time the state of traffic congestion at each road using Electronic Toll Collection … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 12 Nov 2018 · 7,592 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Optimal Load Sharing Technique For Grid ComputingD. Ramesh, A. KrishnanProblem statement: Grid and Cloud Computing is the fast growing industry, in which the grid computing shares the resources in the organization in an effective manner. Resource sharing requires more optimized algorithmic structure, otherwise the waiting time and response time are increased and the resource utilization is reduced. Approach: In order to avoid such reduction in the performances of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 29 May 2012 · 6,965 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImplementation of Computer Aided Diagnosis System Based on Parallel Approach of Ant Based Medical Image SegmentationJayabalan Jaya, Keppanagowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: The aim of this study is to develop Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for the detection of brain tumor by using parallel implementation of ACO system for medical image segmentation applications due to the rapid execution for obtaining and extracting the Region of Interest (ROI) from the images for diagnostic purposes in medical field. Approach: For ROI segmentation, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 8,130 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLoad Balancing of Distributed Systems Based on Multiple Ant Colonies OptimizationAl-Dahoud Ali, Mohamed A. Belal, Moh’d Belal Al-ZoubiProblem statement: Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) provides a meta-heuristic optimization tool and collective intelligence model to several applications such as routing and load balancing. A lot of work found in the literature on using ACO in load balancing. However, as far as our knowledge, there was no work relating load balancing in distributed systems with ACO. Approach: In this study, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,209 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Designing Framework for Ant Colony Algorithm for Managing Cognitive InsomniaRoqia Rateb, Amal Shorman, Ahmad Sami Al-Shamayleh et al.Insomnia, a condition characterized by poor sleep quality, significantly impacts cognitive function, mood, and overall well-being. Traditional treatments like medication and psychological therapies, while effective, often come with limitations such as high costs and limited scalability. This study addresses these challenges by proposing an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm-based approach to create a dynamic support network for individuals suffering from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2025 · 3,518 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFedLoBA-1: A Load Balancing Architecture for Mitigating Resource Overloading in Federated Cloud InfrastructuresDamola Gideon Akinola, Emmanuel Adetiba et al.In a subscription-based service such as cloud computing, clients have scheduled access to shared resources such as data, software, storage, and other assets as needed. Despite several benefits, cloud computing still faces significant difficulties. Load balancing, which is the capacity of the cloud infrastructure to equally distribute tasks among the resources in the cloud environment has significant issues.
