Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHybrid Adaptive Filters for Dynamic Mass Measurement of Moving Objects on Flexible PlatformsSergio Bimbi Junior, Flavio Celso Trigo, Agenor de Toledo FleuryDynamic mass measurement of moving objects on flexible platforms remains a significant challenge due to mechanical vibrations, structural flexibility, and the inherently low Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of strain gauge sensors. Traditional analog filtering approaches, such as Tow– Thomas active filters, exhibit limitations since gain stages propagate and may even amplify intrinsic noise, compromising metrological accuracy. This work proposes a hybrid … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 19, Issue 1 · 22 Apr 2026 · 2,655 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSpeech Enhancement Based on Adaptive Noise Cancellation and Particle Swarm OptimizationTayseer M.F. Taha, Summrina Kanwal Wajid, Amir HussainSpeech enhancement is used in almost all modern communication systems. This is due to the quality of speech being degraded by environmental interference factors, such as: Acoustic additive noise, acoustic reverberation or white Gaussian noise. This paper, explores the potential of different benchmark optimization techniques for enhancing the speech signal. This is accomplished by fine tuning filter coefficients using a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 5 · 28 May 2019 · 7,729 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLICENSE PLATE LOCALIZATION USING GABOR FILTERS AND NEURAL NETWORKSSami Ktata, Faouzi Benzarti, Hamid AmiriVehicle License Plate Detection (LPD) is an important step for the vehicle plate recognition which can be used in the intelligent transport systems. Many methods have been proposed for the detection of license plates based on: Mathematical morphology, Discrete Wavelet Transform, Hough Transform and others. In general, an LPR system includes four main parts: Vehicle image acquisition, license plate detection, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 6,977 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractConvolution Neural Networks of Dynamically Sized Filters with Modified Stochastic Gradient Descent Optimizer for Sound ClassificationManu Pratap Singh, Pratibha RashmiDeep Neural Networks (DNNs), specifically Convolution Neural Networks (CNNs) are found well suited to address the problem of sound classification due to their ability to capture the pattern of time and frequency domain. Mostly the convolutional neural networks are trained and tested with time-frequency patches of sound samples in the form of 2D pattern vectors. Generally, existing pre-trained convolutional neural … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 1 · 13 Dec 2023 · 5,781 accessesView PDFCite

Al-DhawiAutomatic recognition of vehicle plate characters became a very important in our daily life because of the unlimited increase of vehicles that enter or leave a supervised area. This paper describes an automatic intelligent system that captures the images of vehicles and has the ability to recognize the plates of vehicles entering the university campus or leaving. A camera is … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 4 · 12 Apr 2017 · 7,680 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArtificial Neural Network in Face Detection Human on Digital ImageAbdusamad Al-MarghilaniMethod itself is proposed to be formed by series of filters. Each filter is an independent method of detection and allows you to cut off quickly the regions that do not contain the face’s areas. For this purpose some of the different characteristics of the object are used in addition each subsequent part processes only promising areas of image which … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 6 Sep 2013 · 6,691 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Evaluation of Adaptive Filter and Neuro-Fuzzy Filter in Artifacts Removal From Electroencephalogram SignalPaulchamy Balaiah, IlavennilaProblem statement: This study presents an effective method for removing mixed artifacts (EOG-Electro-ocular gram, ECG-Electrocardiogram, EMG-Electromyogram) from the EEG-Electroencephalogram records. The noise sources increases the difficulty in analyzing the EEG and obtaining clinical information. EEG signals are multidimensional, non-stationary (i.e., statistical properties are not invariant in time), time domain biological signals, which are not reproducible. It is supposed to contain … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 15 Aug 2012 · 7,087 accessesView PDFCite
