Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF WORMHOLE SECURITY APPROACHES FOR AD-HOC NETWORKSIsmail Hababeh, Issa Khalil, Abdallah Khreishah, Samir BatainehAd-hoc networks are talented but are exposed to the risk of wormhole attacks. However, a wormhole attack can be mounted easily and forms stern menaces in networks, particularly against various ad-hoc wireless networks. The Wormhole attack distorts the network topology and decrease the network systems performance. Therefore, identifying the possibility of wormhole attacks and recognizing techniques to defend them are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,618 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDensity Based Routing Algorithm for Spare/Dense Topologies in Wireless Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) operate in environments without infrastructures with an undefined network size. Most routing protocols of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) were studied using open space models where nodes were able to move throughput the entire simulation area. However, a more realistic topology should account for restricted mobility of nodes, such as in an urban city … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,461 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleNodes Density and Broadcast Management in Heterogeneous Environments of Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: The research presented in this study looks into Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) environment that has varying node densities, called heterogeneous density environment. Such environment can be roughly associated with situations varying from areas struck by disasters to normal city environments. Approach: This study improved the performance of existing MANETs routing protocols by reducing the communication overhead incurred during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,330 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDecreasing Overhead and Power Consuming in Ad-Hoc Networks by Proposal a Novel Routing AlgorithmA. Barati, A. Movaghar, H. Barati, A. Azizi MazreahAn Ad-Hoc network has been constructed from a fabric of mobile nodes intercom connected by temporary wireless links. Nodes located beyond a single hop are reached using intermediate neighbors to forward messages over long distances. The problem with this method of communication is that mobility causes the network topology to be unstable. Traditional solutions maintain routes by exchanging information when … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2008 · 6,800 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleArithmetic Encoding Based Dynamic Source Routing for Ad-Hoc NetworksAjay Koul, R. B. Patel, V. K. BhatAn ad hoc network is a collection of mobile stations forming a temporary network without the aid of any centralized coordinator. Routing messages are an essential component of Mobile Adhoc Networks, as each packet needs to be passed quickly through intermediate nodes from source to destination. Internal threats due to changes in the node behaviour that target the routing discovery … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,604 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Novel Distributed Clustering Algorithm for Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksSahar Adabi, Sam Jabbehdari, Amirmasoud Rahmani, Sepideh AdabiThis paper proposed a new Distributed Score Based Clustering Algorithm (DSBCA) for Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs).In MANETs, select suitable nodes in clusters as cluster heads are so important. The proposed Clustering Algorithm considers the Battery Remaining, Number of Neighbors, Number of Members, and Stability in order to calculate the node's score with a linear algorithm. After each node calculates its … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,114 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDynamic Head Cluster Election Algorithm for Clustered Ad-Hoc NetworksArwa Zabian, Ahmed Ibrahim, Fadi Al-KalaniIn distributed system, the concept of clustering consists on dividing the geographical area covered by a set of nodes into small zones. In mobile network, the clustering mechanism varied due to the mobility of the nodes any time in any direction. That causes the partitioning of the network or the joining of nodes. Several existing centralized or globalized algorithm have … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2008 · 7,430 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA New Policy for Path Selection in Dynamic Source Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksRagb O.M. Saleh, Md Yazid Mohd Saman, M. Nordin A. RahmanIn standard DSR protocol, nodes automatically discover and maintain the routes in the network by storing source routes, discovered dynamically on-demand. They maintain route caches that contain the source routes which the node is aware of. Entries are continually updated when new routes are learned and reorder the cached routes according to the traditional shortest path policy. The problem with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 17 May 2013 · 6,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleRange Detection Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksR. Velumani, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Many efforts have been implemented towards the Group membership management on multicast routing in MANETs, but the difficulties associated with Group membership management are still existed. Approach: Maintaining endurance of Group Leader (GL) in multicasting routing has been a great challenge to all the protocol having been invented so far. Results: This study provides the RDMP algorithm for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 10 Feb 2012 · 6,486 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEnhancing Quality of Service of Video Streaming Applications Over Vehicular Ad-Hoc NetworksPooja Sharma, Ajay KaulVehicular ad-hoc networks play quite an important role in communication as it is challenging to have communication across VANET nodes because of high mobility. Video streaming applications over ad-hoc networks are quite difficult because of more mobility of VANET nodes. There are various existing techniques to optimize or improve the video dissemination over ad-hoc networks. Video streaming applications need a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2025 · 3,387 accessesView PDFCite
