Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsArtificial Bee Colony Algorithm Integrated with Fuzzy C-mean Operator for Data ClusteringM. Krishnamoorthi, A. M. NatarajanClustering task aims at the unsupervised classification of patterns in different groups. To enhance the quality of results, the emerging swarm-based algorithms now-a-days become an alternative to the conventional clustering methods. In this study, an optimization method based on the swarm intelligence algorithm is proposed for the purpose of clustering. The significance of the proposed algorithm is that it uses … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 6 May 2013 · 6,299 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsOptimization Techniques To Record DeduplicationDeepa Karunakaran, Rangarajan RangaswamyDuplicate record detection is important for data preprocessing and cleaning. Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) is one of the most recently introduced algorithms based on the intelligent foraging behavior of a honey bee swarm. Our approach to duplicate detection is the use of ABC algorithm for generating the optimal similarity measure to decide whether the data is duplicate or not. In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 11 Aug 2012 · 7,741 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPredicting Missing Attribute Values Using k-Means ClusteringNambiraj Suguna, Keppana Gowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: Predicting the value for missing attributes is an important data preprocessing problem in data mining and knowledge discovery tasks. Several methods have been proposed to treat missing data and the one used more frequently is deleting instances containing at least one missing value of a feature. When the dataset has minimum number of missing attribute values then we … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 7,873 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Spectrum Sensing and Allocation Model for Primary User Detection and Interference Mitigation in Television WhitespacesJoachim Notcker, Emmanuel Adetiba et al.Television White Space (TVWS) emerges as an encouraging solution to address the challenge of a restricted wireless communication spectrum. It denotes the frequency range spanning from 54-790 MHz and researchers have increasingly explored its propagation characteristics in recent years. Nonetheless, a notable hindrance to its effective utilization lies in the interference between primary and secondary users, as well as interference … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 3 · 29 Jan 2024 · 5,228 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSlime Mould Reproduction: A New Optimization Algorithm for Constrained Engineering ProblemsRajalakshmi Sakthivel, Kanmani SelvaduraiIn recent explorations of biologically inspired optimization strategies, the Slime Mould Reproduction (SMR) algorithm emerges as an innovative meta-heuristic optimization technique. This algorithm is deeply rooted in the reproductive dynamics observed in slime molds, particularly the intricate balance these organisms strike between local and global spore dispersal. By replicating this balance, the SMR algorithm deftly navigates between exploration and exploitation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 20, Issue 1 · 21 Dec 2023 · 5,943 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPrice Prediction for Agricultural Commodities in Bandung Regency Based on Functional Link Neural Network and Artifical Bee Colony AlgorithmsFhira Nhita, Deni Saepudin, Andini Paramita et al.In Indonesia, fluctuating agricultural commodity prices often impacts society negatively. In this study, farmers in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia, were chosen as a case study. Fluctuating agricultural commodity prices can lead to farmers suffering losses due to the sale price being smaller or equal to the cost of planting. Price is influenced by crop productivity, while planting productivity is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 10 · 6 Mar 2019 · 7,904 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCONGESTION MANAGEMENT BY OPTIMAL ALLOCATION OF FACTS CONTROLLERS USING HYBRID FISH BEE OPTIMIZATIONS. Thangalakshmi, P. ValsalalThe role of Independent System Operator (ISO) in the restructured power industry includes system control, capacity planning, transmission tariff and congestion management; the challenging task being minimizing the congestion. One of the popular techniques used to alleviate congestion is using Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) devices. The power system generally operates near its rated capacity in deregulated market because of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 24 Apr 2014 · 6,645 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Independent Rough Set Approach Hybrid with Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for Dimensionality ReductionNambiraj Suguna, Keppana Gowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: Dimensionality reduction is viewed as an important pre-processing step for pattern recognition and data mining. As the classical rough set model considers the entire attribute set as a whole to find the subset, comparing all possible combinations of sets of attributes is difficult. Approach: In this study, we have introduced an improved Rough Set-based Attribute Reduction (RSAR) namely … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 25 Mar 2011 · 8,334 accessesView PDFCite
