Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordMobility Management for Seamless Information Flow in a Heterogeneous NetworksAdiline Macriga, AnandhakumarProblem statement: In the heterogeneous networks, generally the entire networks operating on the Radio Frequencies under wireless mode available for communication are brought under a single head based on their common operating procedures and functions. As a common mode the basic functions of the networks are requesting, tracing, sending, acknowledging, authenticating, authorizing, receiving, updating, forwarding, controlling, registering, managing. As the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,891 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Analysis of Power Aware Congestion Control Multipath Multicast Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NetworkDuraiswamy Karuppaswamy, Vijayaragavan ShanmugamProblem statement: In MANETs, wireless link transmission errors, mobility and congestion are major causes for packet loss. Mobility may cause packet loss in different ways. Whereas congestion in a network occurs, whenever the demands exceed the maximum capacity of a communication link especially when multiple hosts try to access a shared media simultaneously. Approach: In this study, we proposed a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 2 Nov 2010 · 7,044 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAutomated Position System Implementation over Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks in 2-Dimension SpaceSoumen Kanrar, Mohammad SirajProblem statement: The real world scenario have changed from the wired connection to wireless connection. Over the years software development has responded to the increasing growth of wireless connectivity in developing network enabled software. The problem arises in the wireless domain due to random packet loss in transport layer and as well as in data link layer for the end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Effective Location-Based Power Conservation Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksKhalid Kaabneh, Azmi Halasa, Hussein Al-BahadiliProblem statement: One of the major issues in current reactive routing protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is the high bandwidth and power consumptions during the routing process. In this study, we proposed and evaluated the performance of an efficient Location-Based Power Conservation (LBPC) scheme for MANETs. Approach: In this scheme, the transmitting node utilized the location-information of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Channel Adaptive Energy Efficient and Fair Scheduling Media Access Control Protocol for Mobile AdHoc NetworksP. Priakanth, P. ThangarajProblem statement: A major drawback in the existing protocols in dealing with energy management issues is that the time varying nature of the wireless channels among the ad hoc nodes is ignored. Approach: This study proposed a channel adaptive energy efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol, for efficient packets scheduling and queuing in an ad hoc network, with time varying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2009 · 7,557 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordHeterogeneous GPRS-WLAN Integration Based on Ad-Hoc NetworksS. LouvrosIn heterogeneous microcellular networks like 802.11(WLAN)-GPRS, users can roam around through vertical handoffs. The major problem in heterogeneous networks is that they support different QoS requirements and the users suffer sudden changes in data rates. This study proposes certain routing algorithms to extend the service time of mobile handsets in the wireless network with higher available data rate, thus improving … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 6,540 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSSM: Slot Scheduling Mechanisms in a Multihop Wireless Hotspot NetworkMaan Younis AbdullahOur focus was to determine a "slot" time for message forwarding. To this end, we model the system as a "Queue" where the time for packet forwarding is determined by slot, at different slot range for each relaying node. We also introduced one important reason of the poor performance is the close coupling between medium contention and network congestion. Our … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2007 · 6,449 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEnhanced Route Re-Construction Method for Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET)Fawaz A.M. Masoud, Said A. Shaar, Ayman Murad, Ghassan KanaanA mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is wireless network composed of mobile nodes that are dynamically and randomly located in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on a continual basis. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The primary goal of such an ad-hoc … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordDistributed Clusterhead Architecture for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksEmad Qaddoura, Wesam AlMobaideen, Ahmad OmariMobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) consists of dynamic topology as nodes in the network are mobile, and connected via wireless links. The nodes are grouped in clusters for the purpose of routing. Nodes within the cluster communicate directly. However, nodes communicate outside the cluster through a centralized node that is called a clusterhead. An elected clusterhead is assigned for communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2006 · 6,809 accessesView PDFCite
