Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set TheoryP. Seethalakshmi, M. Joseph Auxilius Jude, G. RajendranProblem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 15 Oct 2011 · 7,667 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Secure Routing Protocol to Eliminate Integrity, Authentication and Sleep Deprivation Based Threats in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkEdna Elizabeth Nallathambi, Radha Sankararajan, Vaithiyanathan Sundaram, Gracelin SheebaProblem statement: Network security in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major issue. Some of the attacks such as modification, impersonation, Time To Live (TTL) and sleep deprivation are due to misbehaviour of malicious nodes, which disrupts the transmission. Some of the existing security protocols such as ARAN, SAODV and SEAD are basically used to detect and eliminate one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,817 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleVarying Overhead Ad Hoc on Demand Vector Routing in Highly Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkV. Balaji, V. DuraisamyProblem statement: An inherent feature of mobile ad hoc networks is the frequent change of network topology leading to stability and reliability problems of the network. Highly dynamic and dense network have to maintain acceptable level of service to data packets and limit the network control overheads. This capability is closely related as how quickly the network protocol control overhead … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,997 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAuthentication Based and Optimized Routing Technique in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksS. Varadhaganapathy, A. M. Natarajan, S. N. SivanandamProblem statement: An Ad hoc network has been defined as a self-organizing, dynamic topology network formed by a group of wireless mobile nodes. Minimal configuration, absence of infrastructure and quick deployment, would make ad hoc networks convenient for emergency situations other than military applications. In recent years, security in Ad hoc Networks as a research topic had started to receive … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,903 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Effective Contention Aware Stable Path Finding Approach to Provide Quality of Service in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksD. S. Thenmozhi, M. RajaramProblem statement: The application of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) has been increasing every day. Most applications that attract interest for use in current wired networks (e.g. video conferencing, on line movies and camera enabled instant messenger) would attract interest for MANETs also. Many applications that use MANETs include multimedia data that require Quality of Service (QoS) support for effective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,740 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMobile Ad Hoc Network Security for Reactive Routing Protocol with Node Reputation SchemeA. Suresh, Dr. K. DuraiswamyThe mobile node’s reputation in the Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) identifies its trust worthiness for secured multiple data communication. Unknown nature of the node’s communication status for initial period has great impact in the effective data transfer as MANET is self-organized and distributed. Problem statement: The functional operation of the mobile network relies on the trusty cooperation between the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,988 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Study of Threshold Variations in Temporal Decision Systems for Routing in Vehicular Ad hoc NetworksB. S. Shylaja, V. Mary Anita Rajam, V. Uma Maheswari, Arul SiromoneyProblem statement: Route maintenance and re-discovery are expensive in signaling and computation for routing in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). Hence it was desirable to choose the optimal route during the route selection phase. Approach: In this study, the threshold-based routing protocol β-wt uses the notion of threshold from variable precision rough sets. This protocol was used to evaluate routing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 9 Nov 2010 · 6,890 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleLink Stability and Node Energy Conscious Local Route-Repair Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksAnuradha Banerjee, Paramartha DuttaProblem statement: A mobile ad hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. As the nodes are free to move randomly, topology of the network may change rapidly and unpredictably. As a result, intermediate nodes in the communication routes tend to lose connection with each other during the communication process. In order to repair a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,856 accessesView PDFCite
