Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Based Energy Management of a Domestic Photovoltaic PanelMaher Chaabene, Mohsen Ben Ammar, Ahmed ElhajjajiThis study introduces a new switching mean giving a real time optimum connection mode of domestic apparatus on either the electrical grid or a photovoltaic panel (PVP) output. A fuzzy algorithm makes the decision which ensures the optimal energy management basing on the PVP generation and apparatus states with respect to energy save criteria. Validation was driven on a 1kW … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2007 · 7,006 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of a Merged DSP Microcontroller for Embedded Systems using Discrete Orthogonal TransformA. K. Rath, P. K. MeherIn this paper we have proposed the design of a DSP microcontroller where the processor load is significantly reduced by relegating the math-intensive DSP algorithm to dedicated transform computing modules. It is shown that the use of such transform modules will facilitate scalability, reusability and flexibility for implementation of wide varieties of DSP functionalities. Moreover, it would be possible to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 Aug 2006 · 6,918 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Simulation-Based Comparison of Multimedia Traffic Prioritization Schemes for High-Performance Input-Queued Packet SwitchesSalman A. AlQahtaniThis study investigates the problem of enabling Quality of Service (QoS) of multimedia traffic at the input port of high-performance input-queued packet switches using a simulation-based evaluation. We focus on the possibility of assuring QoS of multimedia traffic in such switches by implementing traffic prioritization at the input port where each input-queue has been modified to provide a separate buffer … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2006 · 7,074 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLoad Balancing on Open Networks: A Mobile Agent ApproachR. B. Patel, Neetu AggarwalIn order to disperse the load on a Web server, generally the server cluster is configured to distribute access requests, or mirror servers are distributed geographically on different networks. Use of the Internet and the World-Wide-Web (WWW) has become widespread in recent years and mobile agent technology has proliferated at an equally rapid rate to evenly distribute the requests to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2006 · 6,616 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFault Detection of 3-Phase VSI using Wavelet-Fuzzy AlgorithmM. Rozailan Mamat, M. Rizon, M. S. KhannicheThe good knowledge and information about the fault mode behaviour of the PWM voltage source inverter is important to improve system design, protection and fault tolerant control. This paper develops a real-time condition-monitoring algorithm for 3-phase Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) inverter in fuzzy speed controlled induction machine. It is designed to detect and identify the transistor open-circuit fault and an … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 7,956 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of a QoS-Aware Mechanism for Polling-Based High-Speed Network InterfacesSalman Al-Qahtani, Tarek Helmy, Khaled SalahThe explosive growth of the high-speed multimedia networks and the widespread use of web-based related applications place new demands on the network servers. The network end systems such as PC-Router, network server and host connected to high speed links must satisfy QoS requirements for multimedia traffics such as delay and loss ratio. Most works on operating systems support for high-speed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2005 · 6,565 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Application of Electrochemical Impedance Techniques in Analyzing the AC Response of Some Two-electron Transfer Dye SystemsFarouk RashwanThe Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopic techniques (EIS) were used to investigate the behavior of some dye compounds (quinoid systems) characterized with 2e-transfer processes. For this purpose, Alizarin Red S (ARS), Alizarin Cyanine (AC), Alizarin Viridin (AV) and carminic acid were chosen for the measurements. The EIS experiments were performed using a small AC amplitude (10 mV p-p) in addition to a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2005 · 6,780 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Note towards Reshaping Java's FeaturesN. S. Kutti, Z. A. Al-Khanjari, H. A. Ramadhan, J. FiaidhiProgramming Languages continually go through the refinement process due to several findings such as lack of robustness, lack of flexibility, lack of simplicity and lack of standard. This may require pruning undesirable features, sometimes softening of hard nature of some features and adding new features to improve the scope of the languages. Recently Java has emerged as a refined language … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 30 Dec 2005 · 6,496 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFLANN Detector Based Filtering of Images Corrupted by Impulse NoiseBanshidhar Majhi, Mowafak FathiWe present a novel non-linear scheme for image restoration based on neuro-detector using Functional Link Artificial Neural Network (FLANN) followed by an improved spatial filter. The method is applied to images corrupted by impulse noise with varying strengths and different noise probability. The neural detector is based on the concept of training or learning by examples. When trained properly, the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 7,237 accessesView PDFCite
