Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsOn the Security of the Sensor Cloud Security Library (SCSlib)Mohamed Rasslan, Mahmoud Nasreldin, Ghada Elkabbany, Aya ElshobakyNowadays, cloud computing has experienced remarkable growth. Indeed, one of the main challenges of cloud computing is to protect data from different sensor devices during processing and storing. In 2014, Henze et al. proposed the Sensor Cloud Security library (SCSlib) which allows cloud developer to access encrypted sensor data stored in the cloud. SCSLib drawback is that it allows a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 6 · 23 May 2018 · 8,072 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsModel for Automated and Improved Utilization of Existing Computer Resources on an Example of Web ServersDino Alagić, Ivan MagdalenićInformation technology is under constant innovation pressure to provide the highest level of data availability – i.e., the continuous functioning of operating systems. This is the very reason for an accelerated development of complex systems encompassed by the term cloud computing. Among other things, such solutions are aimed to ensure high-level availability of complex systems and architecture. Numerous studies indicate … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 2 Mar 2018 · 8,270 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Efficient Resource Provisioning Technique in Inter-Cloud using Peer-to-Peer ApproachManbir Kaur, Kiranbir Kaur, Lohit KapoorResource discovery is the process of computing systems; it supports resource management and scheduling of applications. It searches for the apposite variety of resource that satisfies the user's requirements. Resource discovery in computing system is perplexing because of conventional centralized approaches and resilient availability of resources. This scenario becomes more complex in inter-clouds owing to the dynamism and heterogeneity of … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 24 May 2017 · 7,455 accessesView PDFCite
InvestigationOpen accessIn the keywordsLoad Balancing For Cloud-Based Dynamic Data ProcessingTalal Talib JameelThe Map/Reduce paradigm has dominated cloud computing since its beginnings. However, there are some scenarios in which Map/Reduce is not the best model. Once such situation is a system that collects data dynamically, with intermittent arrival times. In this study, we study a modified form of Map/Reduce that uses a load balancer to distribute work, rather than simply assigning a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 8 · 20 May 2017 · 7,111 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLPSO: Another Algorithm for Workflow Scheduling in the CloudToan Phan Thanh, Loc Nguyen The, Said Elnaffar, Cuong Nguyen DoanAlthough workflow scheduling problem has been discussed by many researchers, a few efficient solutions have been introduced for Cloud computing. In this article, we present LPSO, a novel algorithm for workflow scheduling. Based on the Particle Swarm Optimization method, our proposed algorithm not only ensures the fast convergence but also avoid being trapped on local extrema. Our simulation experiments using … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 12 Feb 2017 · 6,800 accessesView PDFCite
InvestigationOpen accessIn the keywordsA Proposal for Standardized Data Attribution and Ownership in the Cloud EnvironmentTalal Talib JameelSince the earliest days of cloud computing there has been a steady migration of data from local data stores to the cloud. As more and more cloud platforms become available, this inflow of data has only increased dramatically. By some estimates, "the cloud" will hold 50% of all data by 2020. Localized management of data is typically handled using tools, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 12 · 27 Dec 2016 · 7,037 accessesView PDFCite
