Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,570 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCache Based Distributed Query Processing in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksT. P. Andamuthu, P. BalasubramanieProblem statement: In the last few years, the evolution of the mobile networks leads to the query processing in mobile computing an impressive research area. The mobile computing technology needs to offer more and different innovative services as the number of users of the mobiles were increasing. In this regard, this study proposed a new algorithm which increased the performance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,763 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMisbehaving Node Detection in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using Multi Hop Acknowledgement SchemeUsha Sakthivel, S. RadhaProblem statement: For any node in a Mobile Ad hoc Network conservation of battery power and bandwidth are the priority. Hence, they try to reduce the overload they would otherwise incur when they forward packets. This selfish behavior of a node affects the throughput of the network. The nodes may also choose a back off value of shorter duration. These … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,714 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAuthentication Based and Optimized Routing Technique in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksS. Varadhaganapathy, A. M. Natarajan, S. N. SivanandamProblem statement: An Ad hoc network has been defined as a self-organizing, dynamic topology network formed by a group of wireless mobile nodes. Minimal configuration, absence of infrastructure and quick deployment, would make ad hoc networks convenient for emergency situations other than military applications. In recent years, security in Ad hoc Networks as a research topic had started to receive … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,910 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Effective Contention Aware Stable Path Finding Approach to Provide Quality of Service in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksD. S. Thenmozhi, M. RajaramProblem statement: The application of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) has been increasing every day. Most applications that attract interest for use in current wired networks (e.g. video conferencing, on line movies and camera enabled instant messenger) would attract interest for MANETs also. Many applications that use MANETs include multimedia data that require Quality of Service (QoS) support for effective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,745 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleLink Stability and Node Energy Conscious Local Route-Repair Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksAnuradha Banerjee, Paramartha DuttaProblem statement: A mobile ad hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. As the nodes are free to move randomly, topology of the network may change rapidly and unpredictably. As a result, intermediate nodes in the communication routes tend to lose connection with each other during the communication process. In order to repair a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,862 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Design and Implementation of a Novel Skew Scenario Model in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksN. Vetrivelan, A. V. ReddyProblem statement: In this research, it had been presented a novel Skew Scenario Model that has been developed and implemented for mobile ad hoc networks. There exist several mobility patterns that try to capture the behavior of the mobile devices under different circumstances, whereas in our work, the direction movement of the nodes is significantly specified horizontally, vertically and diagonally … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,926 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDensity Based Routing Algorithm for Spare/Dense Topologies in Wireless Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: A Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) operate in environments without infrastructures with an undefined network size. Most routing protocols of Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) were studied using open space models where nodes were able to move throughput the entire simulation area. However, a more realistic topology should account for restricted mobility of nodes, such as in an urban city … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 7,465 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNodes Density and Broadcast Management in Heterogeneous Environments of Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: The research presented in this study looks into Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) environment that has varying node densities, called heterogeneous density environment. Such environment can be roughly associated with situations varying from areas struck by disasters to normal city environments. Approach: This study improved the performance of existing MANETs routing protocols by reducing the communication overhead incurred during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,332 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMultiple Constraints for Ant Based Multicast Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksA. Sabari, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is one of the challenging environments for multicast. Since the associated overhead is more, the existing studies illustrate that tree-based and mesh-based on-demand protocols are not the best choice. The costs of the tree under multiple constraints are reduced by the several algorithms which are based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
