Review ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnt Colony Optimization Approaches in Wireless Sensor Network: Performance EvaluationHusna Jamal Abdul Nasir, Ku Ruhana Ku-Mahamud, Eiji KamiokaWireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been widely implemented in large sectors such as military, habitat, business, industrial, health and environment. WSN is part of a distributed system where elements such as routing, load balancing, energy efficiency, node localization, time synchronization, data aggregation and security need to be addressed to improve its efficiency, robustness, extendibility, applicability and reliability. Despite multiple approaches … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 6 · 24 Jun 2017 · 8,533 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Firefly-Inspired Scheme for Energy-Efficient Transmission Scheduling Using a Self-Organizing Method in a Wireless Sensor NetworksZeyad Ghaleb Al-Mekhlafi, Zurina Mohd Hanapi, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati Ahmad ZukarnainVarious types of natural phenomena are regarded as primary sources of information for artificial occurrences that involve spontaneous synchronization. Among the artificial occurrences that mimic natural phenomena are Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and the Pulse Coupled Oscillator (PCO), which utilizes firefly synchronization for attracting mating partners. However, the PCO model was not appropriate for wireless sensor networks because sensor nodes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 11 Dec 2016 · 7,710 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAPPLYING A HYBRID POLLING APPROACH BY SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION TO EXTEND THE LIFETIME OF A WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKInácio Henrique Yano, Vitor Chaves de Oliveira, Mauricio Becker, Andreiwid Sheffer CorreaWireless Sensor Networks are networks suitable for data collection in harsh environments, where it would be difficult or costly the deployment of wired infrastructure. In spite of these advantages, such networks often rely on batteries to operate, which may lead to a serious limitation on the networks lifetime. Bearing this in mind, in this article is proposed and tested a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 4 · 24 Jul 2015 · 7,013 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSECURE WIRELESS AD HOC NETWORKS USING ZERO KNOWLEDGE PROOFBenfano Soewito, Yonathan Marcellinus, Manik HapsaraA Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a group of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically form a network without any pre-established infrastructure or centralized administration, Soewito (2014). Some network hops may be needed to send a packet from one node to another node in the MANET. To do the communication between the nodes, a route has to be selected in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 26 Dec 2014 · 7,863 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleWIRELESS MESH NETWORK CROSS-LAYER INTRUSION DETECTIONF. S. Al-Anzi, S. KhanIntrusion is something which is unsolicited activity and which might be used to interrupt the functions of wireless network. If we talk about wireless networks, having centralized monitoring policy; therefore it is very much easy to detect and eliminate intrusions efficiently. But when we look forward to wireless scenario, especially in the multi hop wireless network, intrusion activities are more … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 23 Dec 2014 · 8,278 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSIGNED GRAPH APPROACH IN ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION POWER TO ENHANCE THE LIFETIME OF WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKSA. Babu Karuppiah, S. RajaramA Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comprises a collection of sensor nodes networked for applications like surveillance, battlefield, monitoring of habitat. Nodes in a WSN are usually highly energy-constrained and expected to operate for long periods from limited on-board energy reserves. When a node transmits data to a destination node the data is overheard by the nodes that are in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 13 May 2014 · 6,729 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEXTENDED-RANDOMIZED, EFFICIENT, DISTRIBUTED: A DYNAMIC DETECTION OF CLONE ATTACKS IN STATIC WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKSC. Geetha, M. RamakrishnanA wireless sensor network is a collection of nodes organized in to a cooperative network. Each node consists of processing capability, multiple types of memory, a power source and actuators and sensors. This wireless sensor network is established in hostile and harsh environments like civil and military applications. This network is prone to various attacks. One of the major attack … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 6 May 2014 · 6,742 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEFFICIENT KEY MANAGEMENT AND AUTHENTICATION SCHEME FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKST. Lalitha, R. Saravana Kumar, R. HamsaveniWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is vulnerable to node capture attacks in which an attacker can capture one or more sensor nodes and reveal all stored security information which enables him to compromise a part of the WSN communications. Due to large number of sensor nodes and lack of information about deployment and hardware capabilities of sensor node, key management in … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 10 Apr 2014 · 6,981 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDETECTING MULTIPLE INTRUSION ATTACKS USING PERMANENT GIRTH CLUSTERING MODEL IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKG. Jayamurugan, P. KamalakkannanSecurity is the central challenge and one of the serious concerns for designing reliable sensor networks. Of the different types of security threats in wireless sensor network, particularly dangerous attack is the replica node attack, in which the opponent takes the secret keying materials from a compromised node. It then produces large number of attacker-controlled replicas that divide up the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 1 Apr 2014 · 6,467 accessesView PDFCite
