Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEvaluation Metrics for Wireless Sensor Network Security: Algorithms Review and Software ToolQasem Abu Al-Haija, Mohamed H. Shwehdi, Muhammad BanatWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is currently receiving a significant attention due to their potential impact into several real life applications such as military and home automation technology. The work in this study is a complementary part of what’s discussed. In this study, we propose a software tool to simulate and evaluate the six evaluation metrics presented for non-deterministic wireless sensor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 27 May 2013 · 7,349 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePriority Based Congestion Detection and Avoidance in Wireless Sensor NetworksR. Beulah Jayakumari, V. Jawahar SenthilkumarThe primary objective of event driven wireless sensor networks is to route the detected or monitored data at the earliest to the base station depending on their degree of priority since the data generated in a sensor network has different importance. In order to avoid indiscriminate dropping of data during congestion we propose a novel congestion protocol named priority based … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 26 Apr 2013 · 6,738 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleParticle Swarm Optimization-Based Routing Protocol for Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks with Mobile SinkR. Sudarmani, K.R. Shankar KumarIn Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes with sensing, computing and communication infrastructure are randomly deployed and organized as clusters. Most of the existing sensor networks focus on homogeneous in which the cluster heads are changed periodically. To improve the lifetime of energy constraint battery powered WSN and to avoid energy sink-hole problem; Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks (HSN) are analyzed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,845 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCluster Based Time Division Multiple Access Scheduling Scheme for Zigbee Wireless Sensor NetworksB. Meenakshi, P. AnandhakumarIn IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor Networks, an efficient scheduling mechanism is required for reliable data transmission. Further, concurrent transmission of huge data through CSMA/CA incurs more packet collision rate. This complicated condition has to be eliminated to improve the system throughput. In this study, we propose to deploy cluster based TDMA scheduling mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 26 Nov 2012 · 6,685 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleTrust Based Node Replication Attack Detection Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworksV. Manjula, C. ChellappanThe harmful attack against Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is Node Replication attack, where one or more node(s) illegitimately claims an identity, are also called clone attack due to identity theft. The Node replication attack can be exceedingly injurious to many important functions of the sensor network such as routing, resource allocation, misbehavior detection, This study proposes a method Randomized and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 5 Nov 2012 · 6,759 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePro-Active Prevention of Clone Node Attacks in Wireless Sensor NetworksK. M. Anandkumar, C. JayakumarProblem statement: Wireless mobile sensor networks are deploying large, self-organized and adaptable sets of sensors for many applications such as military, environmental, health care, remote monitoring and other applications. Unfortunately, the simplicity and low-cost of these sensors make eases cloning of compromised nodes by attackers in the network. Due to the unattended nature of wireless sensor networks, an adversary can … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 28 Aug 2012 · 7,075 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnhanced RSACRT for Energy Efficient Authentication to Wireless Sensor Networks SecurityP. Kalyani, C. ChellappanProblem statement: The Security in WSN has become a challenge because of its inherent limitations of resources imposed on the sensor nodes. Authentication and key management scheme allows WSNs to be used with confidence and maintains integrity of data in sensor networks. Approach: In the WSN limited resource scenario the generation of public key done and are randomly pre distributed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 18 Aug 2012 · 7,344 accessesView PDFCite
