Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWinner-Take-All Neural Network with Massively Optoelectronic InterconnectionsWissam H. Ali, Ahmed N. Abdalla, Wa'l H. AliThe increased interconnection density, bandwidth, nonlocality and fan-out-fan-in offered by optics over conventional electronic technologies make it a very attractive medium for a variety of application particularity in the field of communication system implementation for all types of computing engines is achieved. This is especially true for neural networks in which the demand for communication resources is extremely high. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAging Study and Lifetime Estimation of Transformer Mineral OilMohammad R. MeshkatoddiniProblem statement: Power transformer is the most expensive equipment in electrical network; and the mineral oil has the main roles of insulating and cooling in it. Oil is subjected to the degradation because of the ageing, high temperature and chemical reactions such as the oxidation. Then the oil condition has to be checked regularly and reclaimed or replaced when necessary, … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Mar 2008 · 11,100 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnergy Aware Optimal Routing for Wireless Sensor NetworksS. Chandramathi, U. Anand, T. Ganesh et al.Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of autonomous devices with computational, sensing, and wireless communication capabilities. The sensor nodes are low cost, multi-functional devices that are densely deployed either inside the phenomenon or very close to it and are often powered by independent power sources. The lifetime of such sensor nodes show a strong dependence on lifetime of the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2007 · 6,645 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLocation Based Throughput Maximization Routing in Energy Constrained Mobile Ad-hoc NetworkV. Sumathy, P. Narayanasamy, R. PrabhuIn wireless Ad-hoc network, power consumption becomes an important issue due to limited battery power. One of the reasons for energy expenditure in this network is irregularly distributed node pattern, which impose large interference range in certain area. To maximize the lifetime of ad-hoc mobile network, the power consumption rate of each node must be evenly distributed and the over … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 6,823 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractConstructing Longest Lifetime Route in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksFredrick Mtenzi, Yingyu WanA mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system consisting of mobile hosts connected by wireless links. Every host can move in any direction at any speed and time. This leads to a dynamic topology as hosts move constantly. MANET broadcast messages to each hosts, the transmission of one host can be heard by all hosts in its communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 19 Oct 2005 · 4,936 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordStrengthening the Integrity of Forwarding First Communication Using Forward Key Chain and Bloom Filter in the Wireless Sensor NetworksMuhammad Taqqyyudin Ilham Ramadhan, Farah Afianti, Bambang Ari Wahyudi et al.Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are collections of sensor nodes that can help people monitor things wirelessly, replacing the need for human presence in hard-to-reach areas. While forwarding first communication reduces communication delays among the sensor nodes, it lacks a security mechanism. Since sensor nodes have limited resources, using complex security measures can shorten their lifetime. This study proposes a protocol … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 3 · 14 Feb 2023 · 5,661 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Firefly-Inspired Scheme for Energy-Efficient Transmission Scheduling Using a Self-Organizing Method in a Wireless Sensor NetworksZeyad Ghaleb Al-Mekhlafi, Zurina Mohd Hanapi, Mohamed Othman, Zuriati Ahmad ZukarnainVarious types of natural phenomena are regarded as primary sources of information for artificial occurrences that involve spontaneous synchronization. Among the artificial occurrences that mimic natural phenomena are Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) and the Pulse Coupled Oscillator (PCO), which utilizes firefly synchronization for attracting mating partners. However, the PCO model was not appropriate for wireless sensor networks because sensor nodes … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 11 Dec 2016 · 7,710 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSIGNED GRAPH APPROACH IN ADAPTIVE TRANSMISSION POWER TO ENHANCE THE LIFETIME OF WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKSA. Babu Karuppiah, S. RajaramA Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) comprises a collection of sensor nodes networked for applications like surveillance, battlefield, monitoring of habitat. Nodes in a WSN are usually highly energy-constrained and expected to operate for long periods from limited on-board energy reserves. When a node transmits data to a destination node the data is overheard by the nodes that are in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 8 · 13 May 2014 · 6,729 accessesView PDFCite
