Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractROBUST MEMORY MANAGEMENT USING REAL TIME CONCEPTSV. Karthikeyan, S. Ravi, M. AnandMemory fragmentation is the development of a large number of separate free areas. Memory management in embedded systems demand effective implementation schemes to avoid fragmentation problem. Existing dynamic memory allocation methods fail to suit real time system requirements. Execution times need to be deterministic and this motivates the need for allocation and deallocation to be done in constant time with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 1 Apr 2014 · 7,488 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractApplication Specific Integrated Circuits Design and Implementation of Rademacher and Walsh FunctionsA. Abbasi, A. R.M. Alamoud, S. A. AbbasiThe orthogonal functions, specially the Rademacher and Walsh functions are being increasingly used in Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Today’s DSP applications require fast processing time in order to meet the challenges of the real time systems. State-of-the-art implementation technologies are therefore being used. This study describes the design and implementation of Rademacher and Walsh functions targeted to the state-of-the-art Cell … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 7 Jan 2014 · 7,340 accessesView PDFCite

Aborujilah, M. IrfanNow days cloud computing is an important and hot topic in arena of information technology and computer system. Several companies and educational institutes have been deployed cloud infrastructures to overcome their problems such as easy data access, software updates with minimal cost, large or unlimited storage, efficient cost factor, backup storage and disaster recovery and several other benefits compare with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 21 Dec 2013 · 7,296 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of Field Programmable Gate Array Based Emulators for Motor Control ApplicationsAhmed Ben Achballah, Slim Ben Othman, Slim Ben SaoudProblem statement: Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) circuits play a significant role in major recent embedded process control designs. However, exploiting these platforms requires deep hardware conception skills and remains an important time consuming stage in a design flow. High Level Synthesis technique avoids this bottleneck and increases design productivity as witnessed by industry specialists. Approach: This study proposes to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 12 Jun 2012 · 8,723 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDynamic Distributed Intrusion Detection System Based on Mobile Agents with Fault ToleranceR. Sasikumar, D. ManjulaProblem statement: In earlier days, each and every individual system has particular IDS to the particular system and due to this particular technique there are many drawbacks and much more drawbacks in the system side networks. “All processes used in discovery of unauthorized uses of network or computer devices” Detection of unusual and abnormal activity/events in real-time. Detects break-ins or … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 26 May 2012 · 6,929 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImpact of the Use of Object Request Broker Middleware for Inter-Component Communications in C6416 Digital Signal Processor Based Software Communications Architecture Radio SystemsWael A. Murtada, Mohamed M. Zahra, Magdi Fikri et al.Problem statement: This study presents an in-depth analysis of the performance of Software Communications Architecture (SCA) component-based waveform applications in terms of inter-component communications. The main limitation with SCA, in the context of embedded systems, is the additional cost introduced by the use of Object Request Broker (ORB) middleware. The ORB middleware handles the interaction between components and objects in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 3 Apr 2012 · 7,239 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFPGA-Based Architecture for a Generalized Parallel 2-D MRI Filtering AlgorithmSami Hasan, Said Boussakta, Alex YakovlevProblem statement: Current Neuroimaging developments, in biological research and diagnostics, demand an edge-defined and noise-free MRI scans. Thus, this study presents a generalized parallel 2-D MRI filtering algorithm with their FPGA-based implementation in a single unified architecture. The parallel 2-D MRI filtering algorithms are Edge, Sobel X, Sobel Y, Sobel X-Y, Blur, Smooth, Sharpen, Gaussian and Beta (HYB).
