Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEFFICIENT KEY MANAGEMENT AND AUTHENTICATION SCHEME FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKST. Lalitha, R. Saravana Kumar, R. HamsaveniWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is vulnerable to node capture attacks in which an attacker can capture one or more sensor nodes and reveal all stored security information which enables him to compromise a part of the WSN communications. Due to large number of sensor nodes and lack of information about deployment and hardware capabilities of sensor node, key management in … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 10 Apr 2014 · 6,987 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDETECTING MULTIPLE INTRUSION ATTACKS USING PERMANENT GIRTH CLUSTERING MODEL IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKG. Jayamurugan, P. KamalakkannanSecurity is the central challenge and one of the serious concerns for designing reliable sensor networks. Of the different types of security threats in wireless sensor network, particularly dangerous attack is the replica node attack, in which the opponent takes the secret keying materials from a compromised node. It then produces large number of attacker-controlled replicas that divide up the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 1 Apr 2014 · 6,470 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS FOR MEASURING THE CONSUMPTION OF SAVE WATER TAPSInacio Henrique Yano, Vitor Chaves de Oliveira, Eduardo Veiga de Araujo et al.Currently, water consumption is on the agenda of most organizations around the world. Beyond the environmental benefits for a better use of natural resources there is also a financial motivation to continuously reduce operation costs. This study reports a cost-effective solution using a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) for measuring the consumption of different types of save water taps, in a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 6 · 1 Apr 2014 · 6,858 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOPTIMIZING LOCALIZATION ROUTE USING PARTICLE SWARM-A GENETIC APPROACHL. Lakshmanan, D. C. TomarOne of the most key problems in wireless sensor networks is finding optimal algorithms for sending packets from source node to destination node. Several algorithms exist in literature, since some are in vital role other may not. Since WSN focus on low power consumption during packet transmission and receiving, finally we adopt by merging swarm particle based algorithm with genetic … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 3 · 20 Jan 2014 · 7,387 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF HUFFMAN AND LEMPEL-ZIV WELCH DATA COMPRESSION FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NODE APPLICATIONAsral Bahari Jambek, Nor Alina KhairiWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are becoming important in today’s technology in helping monitoring our surrounding environment. However, wireless sensor nodes are powered by limited energy supply. To extend the lifetime of the device, energy consumption must be reduced. Data transmission is known to consume the largest amount of energy in a sensor node. Thus, one method to reduce the energy … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 10 Dec 2013 · 7,949 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA NOVEL HYBRID NODE LOCALIZATION ALGORITHM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKSLiu Yu, Wang Haipeng, He You, Shen JianNode self-localization is one of the supporting technologies in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In this study, a distributed hybrid localization algorithm based on divide-and-conquer and refinement method is proposed. Firstly, the effect of ranging error in the Received Signal Strength (RSS) model on node localization is analyzed and the topology relations of anchors and unknown nodes are derived when the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,881 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSECRET HANDSHAKE ISSUE AND VALIDATE AUTHORITY BASED AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKKamalanaban Ethala, R. Seshadri, N. G. Renganathan, M. S. SaravananWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are major research area in the past few decades. WSN is formed by collection of sensor nodes. Power source life and memory size limit the hardware sources and these will decide the lifesapn of sensor nodes in WSN. Therefore, many resources based research issues are evolved in WSN. This study focused security issue and proposed authentication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,433 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA LEADER BASED MONITORING APPROACH FOR SINKHOLE ATTACK IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKD. Udaya Suriya Rajkumar, Rajamani VayanaperumalSecurity is one of an important factor to be considered seriously in wireless sensor networks. In WSN, in many ways intrusion may occur, in the past decades there is no perfect IDS, without any wasting of resources like time, energy, cost and number of physical items. The main objective is to ensure the security and improve the quality of network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,917 accessesView PDFCite
