Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTakagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Gains Scheduled PI Controller for Enhancement of Power System StabilityLokman H. Hassan, M. Moghavvemi, Haider A.F. MohamedProblem statement: Power system oscillations affect system stability and may lead to failure if not properly controlled. Approach: A Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Gains Scheduled Proportional and Integral (FGPI) controller was proposed for a Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC)-based stabilizer to enhance the power system stability. Linguistic rules and fuzzy inference mechanism are utilized to tune the controller parameters on-line in different … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,541 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Based Digital Automatic Voltage Regulator of a Synchronous Generator with Unbalanced LoadsA. Darabi, S.A. Soleamani, A. HassanniaVoltage stability and power quality of the electrical systems depend on proper operation of the Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) of generators. Nowadays, design technology of the AVRs is being broadly improved. According to wide range operating conditions of the generators and loads, the fuzzy AVRs are going to be the modern type of regulators, particularly, for the genset alternators operating … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,602 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Advantages of PID Fuzzy Controllers Over The Conventional TypesAbdullah I. Al-Odienat, Ayman A. Al-LawamaFuzzy logic controllers (FLC's) have the following advantages over the conventional controllers: they are cheaper to develop, they cover a wider range of operating conditions, and they are more readily customizable in natural language terms. A self-organizing fuzzy controller can automatically refine an initial approximate set of fuzzy rules. Application of PI-type fuzzy controller increases the quality factor. In this … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2008 · 18,036 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReal Time Hybrid Controller Implementation for Switched Reluctance Motor DriveS. Paramasivam, R. ArumugamThis study presents the real time hybrid controller implementation for a Switched Reluctance motor Drive. The developed hybrid control law consists of Proportional Integral (PI) controller at steady state, PI-type fuzzy logic controller (FLC) at transient state and a simple logic controller between steady and transient states to achieve desired performance at various operating conditions under soft chopping operation. The … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2004 · 7,240 accessesView PDFCite
