Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Integrated Approach to Digital Objects Storage and RetrievalKhalil Shihab, Haider Ramadhan, Nida Al-ChalabiImage retrieval systems are becoming increasingly important in areas of research and commercial use. The storage of digital objects in the traditional databases is considered inadequate because of the extensive precise data required for successful retrieval. In addition, the retrieval process has been implemented using content-based image retrieval (CBIR) that relies on retrieving stored images from a collection by comparing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2006 · 6,491 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Prototype of a Small-Scale Solar Power Plant: dynamic Simulation and Thermoeconomic AnalysisAnnamaria Buonomano, Francesco Calise, Maria VicidominiThe paper presents an innovative prototype of a solar power plant, purposely designed for small-scale applications such as residential and/or small commercial buildings. The system consists of 10 kWe Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) plant and innovative solar thermal collectors. In particular, 235 m2 of flat-plate evacuated solar collectors are designed to heat diathermic oil up to 180°C. A variable volume … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 8 Feb 2016 · 8,061 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAnalysis of the Prospects for Developing Storage and Processing Complexes for Multiformat Media DataVladimir Zhanovich Kuklin, Islam Alexandrovich Alexandrov, Alexander Alexandrovich Umyskov, Abas Khasanovich LampezhevA distinctive feature of multifunctional systems for supporting multimedia services on a single platform is the heterogeneity of incoming streams and requests, which requires optimization of resource use under physical constraints. In this regard, it is relevant to develop promising proposals for the functional structure and technical characteristics of complexes for storing and processing multi-format media data, which was the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 12 · 6 Dec 2022 · 5,577 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordDesign of a Merged DSP Microcontroller for Embedded Systems using Discrete Orthogonal TransformA. K. Rath, P. K. MeherIn this paper we have proposed the design of a DSP microcontroller where the processor load is significantly reduced by relegating the math-intensive DSP algorithm to dedicated transform computing modules. It is shown that the use of such transform modules will facilitate scalability, reusability and flexibility for implementation of wide varieties of DSP functionalities. Moreover, it would be possible to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 Aug 2006 · 6,918 accessesView PDF Cite
