Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance of Thin-Film as Wavelength Filter in Wdm-Pof NetworkMohd Syuhaimi Ab. Rahman, L. S. Supian, Hadi Guna et al.Problem statement: Huge capacity for data transmission and bandwidth are becoming a need nowadays. High cost of implementation using optical fibers prevents utilization of the technology as wide as possible. Approach: Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) was a technique that offers the solution for providing better bandwidth. WDM technique allows several signals that have different wavelengths to be transmitted in a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 9 Dec 2011 · 7,271 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImpulse Radio Ultra Wide Band Based Mobile Adhoc Network Routing Performance AnalysisM. Sreedhar, C. VenkateshThis study presents with the routing overhead analysis of impulse radio - Ultra Wide Band based wireless networks which Employs Dynamic Nature Routing (EDNR) method for determining and selecting the stable route in Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). This method requires only two sample packets and uses piggyback information on Route-Request (RREQ) and Route-Reply (RREP) packets during a route-discovery procedure. Conventional … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 15 Apr 2013 · 5,891 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNeural Network for Performance of Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer Plated RC BeamsN. Pannirselvam, P.N. Raghunath, K. SugunaPrediction of the properties other than moment carrying capacity of GFRP plated RC beams does not have any straight forward mechanism. This study presents a General Regression Neural Network (GRNN) based computational model for predicting the yield load, ultimate load, yield deflection, ultimate deflection, deflection ductility and energy ductility of such beams. Results from experimental investigations carried out on nine … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2008 · 7,334 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Performance of Maximum Likelihood, Spectral Angle Mapper, Neural Network and Decision Tree Classifiers in Hyperspectral Image AnalysisHelmi Zulhaidi Mohd Shafri, Affendi Suhaili, Shattri MansorSeveral classification algorithms for pattern recognition had been tested in the mapping of tropical forest cover using airborne hyperspectral data. Results from the use of Maximum Likelihood (ML), Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM), Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Decision Tree (DT) classifiers were compared and evaluated. It was found that ML performed the best followed by ANN, DT and SAM with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 142,423 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Ensemble of Gaussian Mixture Model and Support Vector Machines for Network Intrusion DetectionOlujimi Daniel Alao, Sheriff Alimi, Shade Oluwakemi Kuyoro et al.NetworkIntrusion Detection Systems (NIDS) can protect computer networks and computersystems by detecting abnormal network packets and taking agreed action plans, such as notifying an administrator or rejecting the network packets. In this study, the aim is the implementation of NIDS with improved performance using anensemble of Support Vector Machines (SVMs) and the Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM). Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsMulticost Routing Approach in Wireless Ad hoc NetworksD. Loganathan, P. RamamoorthyProblem statement: A Wireless ad hoc network is a collection of autonomous movable nodes that communicate with each other over wireless links without any static infrastructure. In these networks there is no fixed topology because of the mobility of nodes, interference, multipath propagation and path loss. A variety of routing protocols and algorithm with varying network settings are analyzed to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 30 Aug 2012 · 6,739 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImpact of Malicious Nodes under Different Route Refresh Intervals in Ad Hoc NetworkP. Suganthi, A. TamilarasiProblem statement: Ad hoc networks are formed dynamically by group of mobile devices co operating with each other. Intermediate nodes between source and destination act as routers so that source node can communicate with the destination node even if it is out radio range and thus eliminating the necessity of infrastructure. Co operation of nodes is a very important feature … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 3 Nov 2011 · 7,305 accessesView PDFCite
