Mwinyi, S. A.R. AL-Haddad, S. J. Bin Hashim, R. Bin Hj AbdullahStudent location detection in Learning Management System (LMS) by utilizing Multi-Agent System (MAS) which contains sensor nodes is a new area of research. This study reviews several studies to ascertain the potential of integrating these two technologies to automate students’ class attendance in Higher Learning Institutions (HLIs). Currently, the HLIs are using paper-based process to record students’ attendance in the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 30 Jan 2014 · 7,677 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCLUSTER BASED CACHE CONSISTENCY USING AGENT TECHNIQUE IN MOBILE ENVIRONMENTShanmugarathinam Ganesarathinam, Vivekanandan KanniappanCaching is an essential mechanism in mobile environment. Mobile node makes access dynamic changing data object to their server and to get the interested data to keep their own as local copies in the cache. If the server database is updated, the data cached in mobile client is invalidated and it becomes inconsistent between client and server. In this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 19 Dec 2013 · 6,487 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAdvanced Energy Efficient Passive Clustering Mobility in Wireless Sensor NetworksAouad Siham, Maach Abdelillah, El Ganami DrissWireless sensor networks have a wide applicability and increase deployment in the near future. In most of those applications, the network is composed of an important number of nodes deployed in an extensive area in which not all nodes are directly connected and based on clustering techniques. The Clustering can considerably reduce transmission overhead during flooding. In fact, by using … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 24 Oct 2013 · 6,756 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDYNAMIC PLANNING BASED SCHEDULING APPROACH FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKSM. Senthil Kumaran, R. RangarajanEnergy efficiency is an important issue in wireless sensor networks. A sensor node has a microprocessor and a small amount of memory for signal processing and task scheduling. Dynamic Planning is a method is used in this approach it combines the flexibility of dynamic scheduling with the predictability offered by schedulabilty check. Whenever a node wants to transmit data packet … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 6,819 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractParticle Swarm Optimization-Based Routing Protocol for Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks with Mobile SinkR. Sudarmani, K.R. Shankar KumarIn Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes with sensing, computing and communication infrastructure are randomly deployed and organized as clusters. Most of the existing sensor networks focus on homogeneous in which the cluster heads are changed periodically. To improve the lifetime of energy constraint battery powered WSN and to avoid energy sink-hole problem; Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks (HSN) are analyzed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,840 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractData Relay Clustering Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Data Mining ApproachS. Nithyakalyani, S. Suresh KumarProblem statement: Nowadays sensors are very essential for today life to monitor environment where human cannot get involved very often. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are used in many real world applications like environmental monitoring, traffic control, trajectory monitoring. It is more challenging for sensor network to sense and collect a large amount of data which are continuous over time, which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2012 · 7,193 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCluster Based Data Consistency for Cooperative Caching over Partitionable Mobile Adhoc NetworkP. Kuppusamy, B. KalaavathiProblem statement: Data availability and consistency are foremost issues in Mobile Ad hoc Networks due to the absence of permanent infrastructure. Cooperative caching addresses the data availability issue through coordinating the mobile nodes and sharing the cache copies among them. In the meantime, the mobile node must ensure the staleness of cache copies. The consistency maintenance resolves the staleness of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 10 Jul 2012 · 6,853 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fault Tolerant Resource Allocation Architecture for Mobile GridS. Thenmozhi, A. Tamilarasi, P. T. VanathiProblem statement: In order to achieve high level of reliability and availability, the grid infrastructure should be fault tolerant. Since the failure of resources affects job execution fatally, fault tolerance service is essential to satisfy QoS requirement in grid computing with respect to mobile nodes. Approach: We propose a fault tolerant technique for improving reliability in mobile grid environment considering … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 7 Apr 2012 · 7,290 accessesView PDFCite
