Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFORMAL VERIFICATION OF SAFETY MESSAGE DISSEMINATION PROTOCOL FOR VANETSM. A. Berlin, Sheila AnandThis paper presents a formal verification of a safety message dissemination protocol used in vehicular ad-hoc networks. It is proposed to use Road Side Units to broadcast road hazard information to vehicles travelling on highways. Quick dissemination of road hazard information, like road blocks, slippery roads and other obstacles can help to prevent road accidents and improve passenger safety. Formal … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 9 Jul 2013 · 6,858 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleApplication of Newton Raphson Algorithm for Optimizing Transmission Control Protocol PerformanceJ. Viji Priya, S. SuppiahWireless networks are growing rapidly. TCP is the most widely-used protocol on Internet and so optimizing TCP performance is very important for fast efficient data transfer. The different existing TCP variants and solutions they have not been analyzed together to identify the bottlenecks in wireless networks. TCP has a major problem in its congestion control algorithm which does not allow … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 20 May 2013 · 6,302 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA New Policy for Path Selection in Dynamic Source Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksRagb O.M. Saleh, Md Yazid Mohd Saman, M. Nordin A. RahmanIn standard DSR protocol, nodes automatically discover and maintain the routes in the network by storing source routes, discovered dynamically on-demand. They maintain route caches that contain the source routes which the node is aware of. Entries are continually updated when new routes are learned and reorder the cached routes according to the traditional shortest path policy. The problem with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 17 May 2013 · 6,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Model for Congestion Control of Transmission Control Protocol in Mobile Wireless Ad Hoc NetworksAdib M. Monzer Habbal, Suhaidi HassanTransmission Control Protocol (TCP) is a fundamental protocol in the TCP/IP Protocol Suite.TCP was well designed and optimized to work over wired networks where most packet loss occurs due to network congestion. In theory, TCP should not care whether it is running over wired networks, WLANs, or Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs). In practice, it does matter because most TCP … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 24 Apr 2013 · 7,373 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleQuality of Service Aware Reverse Pathad-Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector ProtocolK. G. Santhiya, N. ArumugamMobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is aninfra structureless network that does not require any built-in infra structure and central control. Due to very fast mobility of nodes, there will be drastic changes in the network topology. So an adaptive routing protocol is needed for effective and reliable routing in MANET. Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is the efficient and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 20 Sep 2012 · 7,061 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleE2AODV Protocol for Load Balancing in Ad-Hoc NetworksR. Vinod Kumar, R. S.D. Wahida BanuProblem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks there are a number of challenges in providing quality of service routing with energy efficiency and load balancing. Most routing protocols do not consider the problem of load balance. A routing protocol called energy Efficient Ad-hoc on Demand Vector (E2AODV) is proposed. It addresses the quality of service issues such as throughput, end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 7 Jul 2012 · 6,832 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMultipath Routing Protocol for Effective Local Route Recovery in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkD. Jagadeesan, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks, frequent mobility during the transmission of data causes route failure which results in route rediscovery. In this, we propose multipath routing protocol for effective local route recovery in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET). In this protocol, each source and destination pair establishes multiple paths in the single route discovery and they are cached … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 8 Jun 2012 · 6,931 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Broadcasting in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Context Aware Adaptive Routing Protocol during Network PartitionsS. V.M.G. Bavithiraja, R. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: In mobile ado network, broadcasting is a common operation for route establishment and for sending control and emergency messages. Reliable Broadcasting in mobile ad hoc networks requires delivery of messages from different sources to all the nodes of the network within bounded time. The nodes are highly mobile and the network is highly dynamic and decentralized. Most of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 28 Feb 2012 · 6,461 accessesView PDFCite
