Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMESSAGE AUTHENTICATION CODE BASED SECURE GROUP KEY MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKST. Peer Meera Labbai, V. RajamaniA mobile ad hoc network is a group of nodes which are communicating with each other with the use of radio frequencies. When there is high movement of mobile nodes, the nodes find difficult to reach other nodes. If the data are exchanged between nodes when there is high mobility, the data may be lost in transit. Therefore the security … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 6,727 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAN EFFICIENT AUTONOMOUS KEY MANAGEMENT WITH REDUCED COMMUNICATION/COMPUTATION COSTS IN MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKM. Devi, S. Chenthur PandianA primary concern in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is security. Secret sharing is an effective way to distribute a secret among n parties, where each party holds one piece of the secret. A number of key management schemes have been proposed for MANETs. However the secret sharing to control key hierarchy needs larger message transmission costs in many techniques. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 5 Sep 2013 · 6,778 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSecured Routing with Authentication in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksT. Guru Baskar, D. ManimegalaiA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a temporary network without any fixed infrastructure. Each node participates in the ad hoc routing protocol that helps it to discover multi-hop paths through the network to any node. Security challenges have become a primary concern for these networks due to their characteristics such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 9 May 2013 · 6,065 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleParticle Swarm Optimization-Based Routing Protocol for Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks with Mobile SinkR. Sudarmani, K.R. Shankar KumarIn Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes with sensing, computing and communication infrastructure are randomly deployed and organized as clusters. Most of the existing sensor networks focus on homogeneous in which the cluster heads are changed periodically. To improve the lifetime of energy constraint battery powered WSN and to avoid energy sink-hole problem; Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks (HSN) are analyzed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,840 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleRandom Dummy Packet Distribution Approach for Detection of Routing Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkT. Sakthivel, R. M. Chandrasekaran, S. Vijay BhanuA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) works on the assumption that mobile nodes are cooperative. On the other hand, in practical, it may not be possible due to selfish, malicious and misbehaving nodes present in the network. These nodes are capable of interrupting the communication process and there is a potential for serious performance degradation. To improve the performance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleComparing the Impact of Black Hole and Gray Hole Attacks in Mobile Adhoc NetworksUsha, BoseMobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) are dynamic in nature. Any nodes can join and leave the network at any time. Hence any type of intruders can attack the communication at any time, especially the routing mechanism between the nodes. In this study, we study and understand two types of attacks which cause more damage to the routing performance of MANET; the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 7 Sep 2012 · 6,904 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSurvey on Mobile Ad Hoc Network Attacks and Mitigation Using Routing ProtocolsS. P. Manikandan, R. ManimegalaiMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) due to its unpredictable topology and bandwidth limitations are vulnerable to attacks. Establishing security measures and finding secure routes are the major challenges faced by MANET. Security issues faced by ad hoc networks are node authentication, insider attack and intrusion detection. Implementing security measures is challenging due to the presence of limited resources in the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 1 Sep 2012 · 6,851 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,723 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMultipath Routing Protocol for Effective Local Route Recovery in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkD. Jagadeesan, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In mobile ad hoc networks, frequent mobility during the transmission of data causes route failure which results in route rediscovery. In this, we propose multipath routing protocol for effective local route recovery in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET). In this protocol, each source and destination pair establishes multiple paths in the single route discovery and they are cached … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 8 Jun 2012 · 6,931 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Broadcasting in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Context Aware Adaptive Routing Protocol during Network PartitionsS. V.M.G. Bavithiraja, R. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: In mobile ado network, broadcasting is a common operation for route establishment and for sending control and emergency messages. Reliable Broadcasting in mobile ad hoc networks requires delivery of messages from different sources to all the nodes of the network within bounded time. The nodes are highly mobile and the network is highly dynamic and decentralized. Most of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 28 Feb 2012 · 6,461 accessesView PDFCite
