Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHeterogeneous GPRS-WLAN Integration Based on Ad-Hoc NetworksS. LouvrosIn heterogeneous microcellular networks like 802.11(WLAN)-GPRS, users can roam around through vertical handoffs. The major problem in heterogeneous networks is that they support different QoS requirements and the users suffer sudden changes in data rates. This study proposes certain routing algorithms to extend the service time of mobile handsets in the wireless network with higher available data rate, thus improving … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 6,540 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleConstructing Longest Lifetime Route in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksFredrick Mtenzi, Yingyu WanA mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is an autonomous system consisting of mobile hosts connected by wireless links. Every host can move in any direction at any speed and time. This leads to a dynamic topology as hosts move constantly. MANET broadcast messages to each hosts, the transmission of one host can be heard by all hosts in its communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 19 Oct 2005 · 4,941 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImproving Routing Discovery Based Velocity-Aware Probabilistic Using AODV with Link Prediction in Mobile Ad-hoc NetworksZaid BassfarThe current process associated with enhancing the QoS in routing for MANETs has reserved a high importance due to the limitation of available route discovery in dynamic topology. The conventional methods of route discovery schemes in MANETs are commonly designed in order to estimate the number of nodes in routes using the standard probabilistic models. Such models are utilized by … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 8 · 1 Aug 2017 · 7,660 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleBluetooth Wireless Monitoring, Managing and Control for Inter Vehicle in Vehicular Ad-Hoc NetworksHelia Mamdouhi, Sabira Khatun, Javad ZarrinProblem statement: The car users expect more and more accessories available in their cars, but the accessories available needed manage by driver manually and not properly manage by smart system. All these accessories are able to control by user manually using different and standalone controllers. Besides, the controller itself uses RF technology which is not existed in mobile devices. So … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,982 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Q-Routing Protocol Using Self-Aware Approach for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksAmal Alharbi, Abdullah Al-Dhalaan, Miznah Al-RodhaanMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are self-organized networks that are characterized by dynamic topologies in time and space. This creates an instable environment, where classical routing approaches cannot achieve high performance. Thus, adaptive routing is necessary to handle the challenges in MANETs. Furthermore, it is necessary for nodes to be self-aware i.e., able to discover neighbors, links and paths when … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,468 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA NOVEL APPROACH FOR INFORMATION SECURITY IN AD HOC NETWORKS THROUGH SECURE KEY MANAGEMENTS. Suma Christal Mary, M. PallikondaRajasekaran, Y. ChrisbinJeevaAd hoc networks provide flexible and adaptive networks with no fixed infrastructure and dynamic topology. Owe to the vulnerability nature of ad hoc network, there are lots of security threats that diminish the development of ad hoc networks. Therefore, to provide security for information of users and to preserve their privacy, it becomes mandatory to use cryptographic techniques to set … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 11 · 2 Oct 2013 · 6,693 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSecured Routing with Authentication in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksT. Guru Baskar, D. ManimegalaiA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a temporary network without any fixed infrastructure. Each node participates in the ad hoc routing protocol that helps it to discover multi-hop paths through the network to any node. Security challenges have become a primary concern for these networks due to their characteristics such … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 9 May 2013 · 6,070 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMulticost Routing Approach in Wireless Ad hoc NetworksD. Loganathan, P. RamamoorthyProblem statement: A Wireless ad hoc network is a collection of autonomous movable nodes that communicate with each other over wireless links without any static infrastructure. In these networks there is no fixed topology because of the mobility of nodes, interference, multipath propagation and path loss. A variety of routing protocols and algorithm with varying network settings are analyzed to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 30 Aug 2012 · 6,739 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,725 accessesView PDFCite
