Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Study of Packet Scheduling Algorithm in LTE NetworkAlaa Omer Najim, Nor Asilah Wati Abdul Hamid, Zurina Mohd Hanapi, Idawaty AhmadAt present, Long-Term Evolution (LTE) is the most popular Internet access technology because of its robust wireless connectivity that can support data, voice, video and messaging traffic. This advantage has significantly increased the number of users availing themselves of these services through various devices. Such an increase in the number of users has also increased network traffic. Thus, scheduling algorithms … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 12 · 20 Dec 2017 · 7,822 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Evaluation of Handover in WiMax with TCP and UDP as Underlying ProtocolKaram Dhafer Mayoof, Rosilah Hassan, Amjed Sid Ahmed, Ahmed MarwanThe rejection of an ongoing connection/session is serious problem and it degrades the QoS and efficiency of the network rather than rejecting a request for new connection. The impact on performance of handovers is a serious problem in cellular systems that must be addressed. During handover there may be delay in packets and connections may drop. Real time applications i.e., … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 12 Dec 2015 · 7,244 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractVehicle Identification using Fuzzy Adaline Neural NetworkGokul Murugesan, Shriram K. Vasudevan, Sivaraman Ramachandran et al.Video surveillance is an important aspect in today’s world, where a particular scene of area requires monitoring to avoid terrorist attacks and unauthorized entries. Vehicle recognition is an important area in object tracking and recognition. Objects may be of rigid or non-rigid in nature with varying velocity and have different features. Important features like shape, logo, color and texture are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 6 · 6 Jun 2013 · 7,176 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStateless Aggregate Fair Marking Scheduler for Differentiated Service NetworksNandhini Sivasubramaniam, Palaniammal SenniappanIn diffserv networks, as the traffic flows vary constantly, it is very difficult to maintain the per-flow state. The computation of rate information of the traffic flow also becomes complex. In this study, we propose a Stateless Aggregate Fair Marking (SAMQ) with Multiple Queue Priority Scheduler for Differentiated Service (DiffServ) networks. Initially, priority scheduler is applied to the flows entering … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 9 Feb 2013 · 7,510 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUtility Based Scheduling and Call Admission Control for Long Term Evolution NetworksJ. Vijay Franklin, K. ParamasivamIn this study, we propose to design a call admission control algorithm which schedules the channels for Real time and non-real time users. In Long Term Evolution (LTE) 3GPP Networks, several works were done on call admission control but these works rarely considers scheduling of resources to the real time and non-real time users. When the system meets traffic oriented performance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 13 Dec 2012 · 6,785 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fuzzy Logic Based Power Control for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access Wireless NetworksN. Mohan, T. RavichandranProblem statement: Resource management is one of the most important engineering issues in 3G systems where multiple traffic classes are supported each being characterized by its required Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Call Admission Control (CAC) is one of the resource management functions, which regulates network access to ensure QoS provisioning. Efficient CAC is necessary for the QoS provisioning in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 4 Aug 2012 · 6,755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDynamic Bandwidth Allocation for Multiple Traffic Classes in IEEE 802.16e WiMax Networks: A Petrinet ApproachS. Geetha, R. JayaparvathyProblem statement: WiMAX supports multiple types of traffic such as data, voice and video. Each flow requires a certain minimum bandwidth to achieve its QoS. Bandwidth allocation to traffic classes should be in such a way that fairness criteria is met with. Hence, we propose a dynamic bandwidth allocation mechanism to achieve fair and efficient allocation. Approach: We present a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 11 · 6 Sep 2011 · 7,101 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Logic Controller for Wireless Video TransmissionK. P. Rajesh, K. S. RamaswamiProblem statement: As the Variable Bit Rate (VBR) is high in MPEG, the video experienced long delay and unexpected data loss. In wireless channel, due to noise and interference of other signals transmission rate cannot be predicted. Approach: In this paper we proposed an intelligent fuzzy logic controller for transmission of Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG-4) video signals over wireless … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStego Encrypted Message in Any Language for Network Communication Using Quadratic MethodAhmed Ch. ShakirProblem statement: Extensive use of digital media like text, images, audio and video on the internet generated a requirement for providing traffic security. For carrying out confidential communications over public networks, it was found that simply concealing the contents of a message using cryptography was not adequate. Concealing the very fact that a communication has taken place could provide an … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,004 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproving Triple Play Services Using Multi Protocol Label Switching TechnologyWaheed Yasin, Hamidah IbrahimProblem statement: Traditional IP networks have many limitations such as routing tables, which can be complex and time consuming. These limitations affect the performance of the network in some applications of triple play services (i.e., voice, video and data) which are characterized as time sensitive applications. Thus, Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology has been proposed to speed up the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,520 accessesView PDFCite
