Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Cross Layer Frame Work for Enhanced Quality of Service Provisioning in Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access NetworksS.J.K. Jagadeesh Kumar, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The demand for multimedia applications in WiMAX networks is growing at a rapid pace. A method for guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS) for different classes of traffic is therefore gaining importance. Hence designing and analyzing multimedia traffic and QoS parameters has become central to this problem. In this study, we propose a cross layer frame work in which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 21 Jan 2012 · 7,052 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAdhoc on Demand Multipath Reliable and Energy Aware Quality of Service Routing for Mobile Adhoc NetworksV. Thilagavathe, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: In a mobile adhoc network, there are a number of challenges for providing quality of service routing for multimedia applications and real time applications like voice transmission. The QoS parameters considered in this study are link reliability and energy consumption. Existing studies estimate the link reliability constraint between two nodes using exponentially distributed epoch lengths. The major problem … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 7 Nov 2011 · 7,842 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleQuality of Service Policy for IEEE 802.11 Networks with Service Rate Selection based on Fairness IndexLia Toledo Moreira Mota, Alexandre de Assis Mota, Luis Fernando FontolanProblem statement: The IEEE802.11 standard states that all stations have the same probability of accessing the network, but does not consider important parameters such as transmission rates and signal-to-noise ratios. However, these networks present an anomaly that allows a station with a low transmission rate to use the communication channel for a long time. Approach: In this context, this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,660 accessesView PDFCite
