Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnt Colony Based Node Disjoint Hybrid Multi-path Routing for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkB. Kalaavathi, K. DuraiswamyMobile Ad hoc Networks are characterized by multi-hop wireless links, without any infrastructure and frequent node mobility. A class of ant colony based routing protocols has recently gained attention because of their adaptability to the network changes. AntHocNet is ant colony based hybrid algorithm, which combines reactive path setup with proactive path probing, maintenance and improvement. Multi-path routing represents a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2008 · 7,043 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRandom Dummy Packet Distribution Approach for Detection of Routing Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkT. Sakthivel, R. M. Chandrasekaran, S. Vijay BhanuA Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) works on the assumption that mobile nodes are cooperative. On the other hand, in practical, it may not be possible due to selfish, malicious and misbehaving nodes present in the network. These nodes are capable of interrupting the communication process and there is a potential for serious performance degradation. To improve the performance of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 6 Nov 2012 · 6,974 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsRange Detection Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksR. Velumani, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Many efforts have been implemented towards the Group membership management on multicast routing in MANETs, but the difficulties associated with Group membership management are still existed. Approach: Maintaining endurance of Group Leader (GL) in multicasting routing has been a great challenge to all the protocol having been invented so far. Results: This study provides the RDMP algorithm for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 10 Feb 2012 · 6,486 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSystem of One to Three Umpire Security System for Wireless Mobile Ad hoc NetworkC. Rajabhushanam, A. KathirvelProblem statement: A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a self-created self-organized and self-administering set of nodes connected via wireless links without the aid of any fixed infrastructure or centralized administrator. Protecting the network layer from malicious attacks is an important and challenging issue in both wired and wireless networks and the issue becomes even more challenging in the case … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Secure Routing Protocol to Eliminate Integrity, Authentication and Sleep Deprivation Based Threats in Mobile Ad hoc NetworkEdna Elizabeth Nallathambi, Radha Sankararajan, Vaithiyanathan Sundaram, Gracelin SheebaProblem statement: Network security in Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is a major issue. Some of the attacks such as modification, impersonation, Time To Live (TTL) and sleep deprivation are due to misbehaviour of malicious nodes, which disrupts the transmission. Some of the existing security protocols such as ARAN, SAODV and SEAD are basically used to detect and eliminate one … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,817 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnergy Aware Multiple Constraints Quality of Service Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSenthilkumar Maruthamuthu, Somasundaram SankaralingamProblem statement: This study presents a source based reactive protocol called "Energy Aware Multiple Constraints QoS Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction (EMQRPDM)" for MANET. It is an enhanced version of our previous protocol called "Power aware multiple QoS constraints routing protocol with mobility prediction (PMQRPMP)". It addresses the issues such as routing, mobility and power management in MANET. Approach: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,477 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTopology Control Using Efficient Power ManagementS. Karunakaran, P. ThangarajProblem statement: Effective Topology control will improve the performance and the capacity of Mobile Ad-hoc networks by building reliable network structure. Approach: Power level is used as the basis for topology control since it reduces spatial interference while increasing the effective channel capacity and network lifetime. Results: In this study, we design a topology control using efficient power management algorithm … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 4 Apr 2011 · 6,715 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Fast Handover Scheme for Multicasting in IPv6 based Mobile Ad hoc NetworksH. Parveen Sultana, M. Pounambal, Dr. P. Venkata KrishnaProblem statement: In the previous researches, steps were taken to resolve the problems of multicasting, after several discussions. Actually these issues were raised, while multicasting packets from Internet Protocol (IP) to Mobile Nodes (MN). On the other hand, there is very little concern about the problem of packet loss reduction. Sometimes the occurrence of multicast service chaos is ignored during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSecure Antnet Routing Algorithm for Scalable Adhoc Networks Using Elliptic Curve CryptographyV. Vijayalakshmi, T. G. PalaniveluThe secure end-to-end route discovery in the decentralized Mobile Adhoc Networks (MANETs) should have to meet the requirements of prevention of DoS attacks on data traffic, should be adaptive and fault tolerant and must have high speed, low energy overhead and scalability for future development.
