Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Feeding Strategy and Carbohydrate Source on Carbohydrate Utilization by Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)L.X. Tian, Y.J. Liu, S.S.O. Hung et al.Problem statement: Feeding strategy is the important factor in aquaculture. Feeding strategy not only could affect the growth performance of grass carp and feed efficiency, but also could affect the quality and environment of water resource. We have proved that glucose was more suitable than starch as the carbohydrate source for grass carp under the restricted feeding frequency. While different … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2010 · 8,991 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalysis of the Tunnel Boring Machine Advancement on the Bologna-Florence Railway LinkM. Cardu, P. Oreste, T. CicalaProblem statement: The high-velocity railway link between Bologna and Firenze (Italy) is today under construction and several tunnels have to be excavated for this purpose, some of these using TBMs. A small diameter tunnel, named Cunicolo ginori, was realized by TBM parallel to a large railway tunnel (Vaglia), at the distance of only 35 m. Approach: The Vaglia tunnel had … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,963 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractGenetic Diversity Analysis of the Gohilwari Breed of Indian Goat (Capra hircus) Using Microsatellite MarkersSubodh Kumar, S. P. Dixit, N. K. Verma et al.Problem statement: Gohilwari breed of goat is a multipurpose goat mainly for milk and meat purposes and best suited in its harsh climatic condition. This breed is inadequately characterized till now at DNA level. So the present study was undertaken for population genetic analysis at molecular level to exploit the breed for planning sustainable improvement, conservation and utilization, which subsequently … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2009 · 8,925 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractGrowth, Feed Utilization and Haematology of Clarias gariepinus (Burchell,1822) Fingerlings Fed Diets Containing Different Levels of Vitamin CM. Adunni Adewolu, O. Olakunle AroProblem statement: In an effort to increase growth, improve feed utilization, reduce stress and prevent certain diseases, a 14 week feeding trial was conducted to determine the effects of different levels of dietary vitamin C (ascorbic acid) on growth, feed utilization and hematological changes in Clarias gariepinus fingerlings. Approach: Diets were formulated to contain 0, 50, 100, 150, 500, 1000 … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,698 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Simulation Model Estimates of the Intercropping Advantage of an Immature-Rubber, Banana and Pineapple SystemMohamadu Boyie Jalloh, Wan Sulaiman Wan Harun, Jamal Talib et al.Problem statement: Intercropping has been shown to have many advantages but it is fallacious to conclude it is always a better cropping system. Little is known about a new double-hedgerow intercropping of rubber, banana and pineapple in relation to its effects on growth and yield of the component crops when compared to their monocrops. Simulation modeling offers a cheaper and … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2009 · 9,003 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDigestibility of Energy and Crude Protein in Korean Rice Wine Residues Fed to PigsMariette Bessem Akonjuen, Bokyung Hong, Hyunjun Choi, Beob Gyun KimTwo experiments were conducted to determine the digestibility of energy and Crude Protein (CP) in Korean Rice Wine Residues (RWR) using in vitro and in vivo approaches. In the in vitro experiment, 2-step and 3-step in vitro disappearance procedures were employed to determine in vitro Ileal Disappearance (IVID) and in vitro Total Tract Disappearance (IVTTD) of nutrients, respectively, in corn, … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 14, Issue 3 · 2 Sep 2019 · 7,999 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Effect of RSA Exponential Key Growth on the Multi-Core Computational ResourceMohamad A. Mohamed, Ammar Y. Tuama, Mokhairi Makhtar et al.Cryptography has been widely used as a mean to secure message communication. A cryptosystem is made up of a publicly available algorithm and a secretly kept key. The algorithm is responsible for transforming the original message into something unintelligible. The result of losing the key or cracked algorithm can be catastrophic, where all secret communications will be known to adversaries. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 25 Nov 2016 · 7,827 accessesView PDFCite
