Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsApplication of Newton Raphson Algorithm for Optimizing Transmission Control Protocol PerformanceJ. Viji Priya, S. SuppiahWireless networks are growing rapidly. TCP is the most widely-used protocol on Internet and so optimizing TCP performance is very important for fast efficient data transfer. The different existing TCP variants and solutions they have not been analyzed together to identify the bottlenecks in wireless networks. TCP has a major problem in its congestion control algorithm which does not allow … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 20 May 2013 · 6,306 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImpulse Radio Ultra Wide Band Based Mobile Adhoc Network Routing Performance AnalysisM. Sreedhar, C. VenkateshThis study presents with the routing overhead analysis of impulse radio - Ultra Wide Band based wireless networks which Employs Dynamic Nature Routing (EDNR) method for determining and selecting the stable route in Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET). This method requires only two sample packets and uses piggyback information on Route-Request (RREQ) and Route-Reply (RREP) packets during a route-discovery procedure. Conventional … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 4 · 15 Apr 2013 · 5,891 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDesign Analysis of An Electromagnetic Band Gap Microstrip AntennaM.S. Alam, M.T. Islam, N. MisranProblem statement: Wideband compact antenna is highly demandable due to the dynamic development in the wireless technology. Approach: A simple, compact EBG microstrip antenna is proposed in this study that covers a wideband of 250 GHz and the design is conformal with the 2.45 GHz ISM band (WLAN, IEEE 802.11b and g)/Bluetooth/RFID applications. Results: A 6×6 array of square unit … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 27 Oct 2011 · 7,373 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsCongestion Control in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks by Enhancement of Transmission Control ProtocolN. Premalatha, A. M. NatarajanProblem statement: Transmission Control Protocol is the Internet’s most widely used transport control protocol. TCP’s strength lies in the adaptive nature of its congestion avoidance and control algorithm and its retransmission mechanism. In TCP Vegas rerouting (a path), which change the propagation delay of the connection and this may be able to result in a substantial decrease in through put. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 17 Oct 2011 · 6,690 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSurface Electromyography-Based Facial Expression Recognition in Bi-Polar ConfigurationMahyar Hamedi, Sh-Hussain Salleh, Tan Tian Swee, KamarulafizamProblem statement: Facial expression recognition has been improved recently and it has become a significant issue in diagnostic and medical fields, particularly in the areas of assistive technology and rehabilitation. Apart from their usefulness, there are some problems in their applications like peripheral conditions, lightening, contrast and quality of video and images. Approach: Facial Action Coding System (FACS) and some … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 25 Jul 2011 · 9,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDevelopment of Wideband Planar Inverted-F Antennas for Wireless ApplicationSaida Ibnyaich, Abdelilah Ghammaz, Moha M’Rabet HassaniProblem statement: Due to the rapid development in wireless communication, the antennas capable of broad-band operations are very demanding in cellular communications systems. Among various possible antennas, planar inverted-F antennas (PIFAs) have the advantages of low profile and compact size and are very suitable for present-day wireless communication application. Approach: This study demonstrates a very effective method of bandwidth enhancement … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,616 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnergy Aware Multiple Constraints Quality of Service Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSenthilkumar Maruthamuthu, Somasundaram SankaralingamProblem statement: This study presents a source based reactive protocol called "Energy Aware Multiple Constraints QoS Routing Protocol with Dynamic Mobility Prediction (EMQRPDM)" for MANET. It is an enhanced version of our previous protocol called "Power aware multiple QoS constraints routing protocol with mobility prediction (PMQRPMP)". It addresses the issues such as routing, mobility and power management in MANET. Approach: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,482 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Effective Contention Aware Stable Path Finding Approach to Provide Quality of Service in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksD. S. Thenmozhi, M. RajaramProblem statement: The application of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) has been increasing every day. Most applications that attract interest for use in current wired networks (e.g. video conferencing, on line movies and camera enabled instant messenger) would attract interest for MANETs also. Many applications that use MANETs include multimedia data that require Quality of Service (QoS) support for effective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,745 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAn Effective Queue Management Scheme for Data CommunicationSheela Thavasi, Nityanandam NatarajanProblem statement: The growth in the needs of Internet applications that transmit massive amount of data has led to the emergence of Effective Queue Management.
