Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing Hyper Clustering Algorithms in Mobile Network PlanningLamiaa Fattouh Ibrahim, Hesham A. SalmanProblem statement: As a large amount of data stored in spatial databases, people may like to find groups of data which share similar features. Thus cluster analysis becomes an important area of research in data mining. Applications of clustering analysis have been utilized in many fields, such as when we search to construct a cluster served by base station in … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 30 Aug 2011 · 7,504 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExploring Spatial ARM (Spatial Association Rule Mining) for Geo-Decision Support SystemRanjana Vyas, Lokesh Kumar Sharma, U. S. TiwaryGeographical Decision Support System (Geo-DSS) is a demanding field, since enormous amount of spatial data have been collected in various applications, ranging form Remote Sensing to GIS, Computer Cartography, Environmental Assessment and Planning. Although some efforts were made to combine spatial mining with Spatial Decision Support System but mostly researchers for spatial database are using a popular data mining approach-Apriori … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2007 · 6,956 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordComparison of Stochastic and Deterministic Methods for Mapping Environmental Noise from Opencast QuarriesDario Lippiello, Guido Alfaro Degan, Mario PinzariAn accurate mapping of the acoustic spatial variability generated by quarrying plants constitutes an important step in the assessment of the environmental compatibility of the extraction site with the surrounding area. This paper refers to the results of a study comparing performances obtained by stochastic and deterministic methods to determine the acoustic climate of the areas surrounding opencast quarries. To … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 28 Mar 2016 · 7,394 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordWeighting Spatial Information in GIS for Copper Mining ExplorationFarhad Hosseinali, Ali Asghar AlesheikhExploration of new mines is vitally important for human life. Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) can be effectively used in the gathering, weighting, analyzing and presenting spatial and attribute information to facilitate the mine exploration process. The success of mine exploration largely depends on: the identification of governing factors, the determination of their impacts and the selection of suitable models to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2008 · 8,603 accessesView PDF Cite
