Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSmart Retrofit Solutions of Buildings toward a Low Carbon WorldErdem Cuce, Pinar Mert CuceIn this short communication, energy-efficient, eco-friendly and low-cost solutions for existing buildings are considered in a holistic manner toward low/zero carbon building concept of near future. Buildings are still responsible for about 40% of total primary energy consumption in the world, hence decisive measures need to be taken promptly due to growing significance of environmental issues driven by fossil fuel … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 29 Aug 2018 · 7,169 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Approach to the Performance and Efficiency Power Analysis on Embedded Devices Using AsteriskAdauto Cavalcante Menezes, Toniclay Andrade Nogueira, Edward David Moreno Ordonez, Admilson de Ribamar Lima RibeiroVoice over IP (VoIP) communication will dominate the computing world for years to come. In order to perform VoIP communication, it is necessary to encode and decode the voice. This process consumes the main computational resources, as an example, it is possible to mention the processor and memory. The telecommunication industries provide equipment with high purchasing prices, which makes the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 7 · 2 Aug 2018 · 8,258 accessesView PDFCite
Case ReportOpen accessIn the abstractQuery Optimization on Distributed Database Dengue Fever by Minimizing Attribute InvolvementSlamet Sudaryanto Nurhendratno, Sudaryanto, Fikri Budiman, Maryani SetyowatiQuery optimization is an important task in a client/server environment of a distributed database, whereas a health epidemiologist data distribution based on DBD data on Geographic Information Systems (GIS). A proper method for a particular query process function is needed to generate query optimization on a distributed database. The query process requires important attention especially in distributed databases because the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 4 · 7 Apr 2018 · 8,327 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAccelerating Digital Forensics through Parallel ComputingGhada Elkabbany, Mohamed Rasslan, Heba AslanDigital crimes in the era of big data and cloud computing imposes significant challenges in digital forensics. Cloud environment provides low cost, easy management and reasonable solutions. Moreover, it supports big data structures and solutions (i.e., security, privacy and digital forensics). In order to achieve a secure digital forensics analysis in cloud environment, researchers have proposed solutions with expensive communication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 2 · 20 Feb 2018 · 8,035 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Efficient Course Resolution Multiple-Receiver Approach for Reception of Slow Fading Signals in Digital Wireless Communication SystemsAshraf Mamdouh Aziz, Senior Member, IEEE et al.Multiple-receiver digital wireless communication systems employ several receivers and a digital central receiver with data fusion to reduce the effect of multipath fading problems. The multiple receiver observations are processed at individual receivers and sent to a digital central receiver. The digital central receiver fuses all the individual receiver data to form global data on which symbol was transmitted. In … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 8 · 7 Sep 2015 · 6,509 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPath Loss Measurements for Wireless Communication in Urban and Rural EnvironmentsYahia Zakaria, Jiri Hosek, Jiri MisurecPath loss models are useful planning tools that allow the designers of wireless communication networks to achieve optimal levels for the base station deployment and meeting the expected service level requirements. In this study various propagation models (COST 231 Walfisch-Ikegami W-I, Ericsson and Stanford University Interim SUI) are analyzed and compared with the measurements. The measured data were taken in … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 16 Apr 2015 · 7,832 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybrid Broadcast Group Management Protocol for Secure, Scalable and Efficient Group CommunicationM. Sayee Kumar, T. PurusothamanIn hasty growth of communication, security plays a central role in maintaining confidentiality of data in group communication. Keeping the data intended for the group in confidential manner is the most important security feature need to be sustained for the group communication.
