Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Bit-Serial Multiplier Architecture for Finite Fields Over Galois FieldsHero Modares, Yasser Salem, Rosli Salleh, Majid Talebi ShahgoliProblem statement: A fundamental building block for digital communication is the Public-key cryptography systems. Public-Key Cryptography (PKC) systems can be used to provide secure communications over insecure channels without exchanging a secret key. Implementing Public-Key cryptography systems is a challenge for most application platforms when several factors have to be considered in selecting the implementation platform. Approach: The most popular … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 23 Oct 2010 · 8,431 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUnderactuated Anthropomorphic Finger Mechanism for Grasping and Pinching with Optimized ParameterNorsinnira Zainul Azlan, Yamaura HiroshiProblem statement: Underactuated finger mechanism is beneficial in the anthropomorphic applications in which it reduces the finger size, weight and power consumption due to the less number of actuators compared to its number of Degree Of Freedom (DOF). However, the currently existing underactuated finger is limited to grasping operations only and unable to pinch with the finger tip. Moreover, the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 7,544 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEnergy Option for Small Scale Cashew Nut Processing in IndiaAtul Mohod, Sudhir Jain, A.G. PowarProblem statement: Cashew (Anacardium Occidentale L.) is one of the important tropical crops. India processed about 11,80,000 metric tons of raw cashew nut seeds through 3650 cashew processing industries scattered in many states of country. The cashew nut processing industries are typically located in the rural and backward areas. The most significant difficulty in processing cashew nuts is that the … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 30 Jun 2010 · 16,074 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHardware Implementation of a Genetic Algorithm Based Canonical Singed Digit Multiplierless Fast Fourier Transform Processor for Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Ultra Wideband ApplicationsMahmud Benhamid, Masuri B. OthmanProblem statement: Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology has attracted many researchers' attention due to its advantages and its great potential for future applications. The physical layer standard of Multi-band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) UWB system is defined by ECMA International. In this standard, the data sampling rate from the analog-to-digital converter to the physical layer is up to 528 … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,515 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMathematical Modeling of the Three Phase Induction Motor Couple to DC Motor in Hybrid Electric VehicleZulkarnain Lubis, A. N. Abdalla, Mortaza, Ruzlaini GhonProblem statement: With emphasis on a cleaner environment and efficient operation, vehicles today rely more and more heavily on electrical power generation for success. Approach: Mathematical modeling the components of the HEV as the three phase induction motor couple to DC motor in hybrid electric vehicle was introduced. The controller of Induction Motor (IM) was designed based on input-output feedback … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,309 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReconfigurable Elliptic Curve Crypto-Hardware Over the Galois Field GF(2163)Mohamed Abdelkader Bencherif, Hamid Bessalah, Abderrezak GuessoumProblem statement: In the last decade, many hardware designs of elliptic curves cryptography have been developed, aiming to accelerate the scalar multiplication process, mainly those based on the Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), the major issue concerned the ability of embedding this strategic and strong algorithm in a very few hardware. That is, finding an optimal solution to the one … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,346 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of Multi-Valued Quaternary Based Analog-to-Digital ConverterA.H.M. Zahirul Alam, Wahab Adetunji Lawal, Sheroz Khan, Muhammad Mahbubur RashidProblem statement: The design of multi-valued quaternary based Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) circuit was presented. The ADC generates multi-valued logic outputs rather than the conventional binary output system to overall reduction in circuit complexity and size. Approach: Design was implemented using pipeline ADC architecture and was simulated using model parameters based on standard 0.13 µm CMOS process. Results: Performance analysis of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,291 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractProgressive Content-Sensitive Data Retrieval in Sensor NetworksBo Yang, Manohar MareboyanaProblem statement: For a sensor network comprising autonomous and self-organizing data sources, efficient similarity-based search for semantic-rich resources (such as video data) has been considered as a challenging task due to the lack of infrastructures and the multiple limitations (such as band-width, storage and energy). While the past research discussed much on routing protocols for sensor networks, few works have … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2009 · 6,845 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMicroelectrical Mechanical Systems Switch for Designing Multi-Band AntennaA.H.M. Zahirul Alam, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Sheroz Khan, Muhammad Mahbubur RashidProblem statement: In this study Microelectrical Mechanical System (MEMS) switches were proposed to design a reconfigurable/multi-band antenna to replaced PIN diode switches or semiconductor switches due to lower insertion losses, good isolation, much lower intermodulation distortion, and lower power consumption. The antenna is able to operate at very high frequencies. Approach: A reconfigurable antenna that is capable to operate at … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2009 · 6,687 accessesView PDFCite
