Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Single Core Hardware Module of a Data Compression Scheme Using Prediction by Partial Matching TechniqueJubayer Jalil, Md. Mamun, Mohd. Marufuzzaman, Hafizah HusainProblem statement: Compression is useful because it helps reduce the consumption of expensive resources, such as hard disk space or transmission bandwidth. For effective data compression, the compression algorithm must be able to predict future data accurately in order to build a good probabilistic model for compression. Lossless compression is essential in cases where it is important that the original … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 7 Oct 2011 · 7,255 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTrichoderma sp Native from Chili Region of Poanas, Durango, Mexico Antagonist against Phytopathogen FungiGabriela Barragan Valencia, Vicente Hernandez Vargas, Jose Natividad Uribe Soto et al.Problem Statement: Presence of Trichoderma spp. in agricultural soils decrease incidence of diseases by phytopathogen fungi. Sanity diagnostic require to know if exist beneficial microorganism and what agricultural practices help to their propagation. Approach: Samples (30) were taken from soils and sick plants of ten sites in four localities of Valley of Poanas. Phytophthora capsici Leo, Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn and … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 4 Jun 2011 · 8,542 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReorganization of Agricultural Extension toward Green AgricultureMohammad S. AllahyariProblem statement: Considering unsustainable agricultural conditions of Iran and organizational recession and inability of current extension organization to achieve sustainability, it seems that extension systems require a new organizational structure to achieve sustainability objectives. The purpose of the present study was to identify the most appropriate characteristics for extension organization toward green agriculture in Iran context. Approach: To fulfill this … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 8,879 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing the Spreadsheet to Understand Random Sampling Procedures in Relation to the Central Limit TheoremRamzi Naim NasserIn many statistics courses in colleges and universities, random sampling has not been presented to students through a hands-on and practical approach. This research described a real-life method to random sampling was used as an exercise in the statistics class. The method allowed students to recursively select 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 samples and list these … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2008 · 6,977 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDetermination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol in Binary Mixture Using Chemometric-Assisted Spectrophotometric MethodsWafaa S. HassanThree methods are presented for simultaneous determination of ibuprofen and paracetamol without previous separation. The first method depends on first derivative UV spectrophotometry, with zero-crossing measurement. The first derivative amplitudes at 230 and 290 nm were selected for the assay of ibuprofen and paracetamol, respectively. The second method depends on first derivative of the ratio-spectra by measurements of the amplitudes … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 8,199 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDetermination of Diloxanide Furoate and Metronidazole in Binary Mixture Using First Derivative of the Ratio-Spectra and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-UV MethodsNora H. Al-ShaalanTwo methods are presented for simultaneous determination of diloxanide furoate and metronidazole. The first method depends on first derivative of the ratio-spectra by measurements of the amplitudes at 242.5 and 285.5 nm for diloxanide furoate and 225.5 and 300 nm for metrinidazole. Calibration graphs were established for 2-100 μg mL-1 for diloxanide furoate and 1-50 μg mL-1 for metronidazole. Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Novel Enhancement Technique of the Hill Cipher for Effective Cryptographic PurposesA. F.A. Abidin, O. Y. Chuan, M. R.K. AriffinProblem statement: The Hill cipher is the first polygraph cipher which has a few advantages in data encryption. However, it is vulnerable to known plaintext attack. Besides, an invertible key matrix is needed for decryption. It may become problematic since an invertible key matrix does not always exist. Approach: In this study, a robust Hill algorithm (Hill++) has been proposed. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 8,545 accessesView PDF Cite
